JGL film to premiere at Sundance
« on: January 17, 2013, 08:07:12 PM »
From today's LA Times Business section:  Sundance darlings eye alternative distribution platforms--

"Among the contenders ... the porn-addiction comedy 'Don Jon's Addiction,' directed by and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt;"

It also stars Scarlett Johansson and Julianne Moore, and Tony Danza (!) plays his dad.  It's Gordon-Levitt's first time directing, and he also wrote it.  This makes, I think, his 7th time at Sundance.  Such a talent.

There was a photo from Sundance shown of Robert Redford and JGL on tonight's Extra:

No mention of the film - but that may be coming Monday, which is when they said they'll begin their real coverage.

On Monday Extra did indeed do a segment on Sundance that fetured JGL and his film. Unfortunately though, it was mostly JGL posing for photos with other celebs. However they did show a photo from the film:

Definitely a different look for him.

The title of the article is misleading, since JGL didn't "not take Chris Nolan's advice".  If you read JGL's comments, he said that he appreciated what Nolan said--and in fact, JGL's response implies that he actually did take the advice.  Nolan did not tell him not to act and direct in the same movie--he said that he should really think about it.  And JGL's response to that was "Totally valid perspective! Completely valid. I happened to go the other way and still do it, but a very valid question and I'm glad he asked it. Most people probably wouldn't want to ask me that and I'm glad he did."  Very different from "not taking the advice".
