Had Curtis hired a different cast for 1795
« on: January 08, 2013, 04:55:19 PM »
I know this is really stretching things with DC's known penny pinching, but what if he decided to hire a new cast for 1795, with the exception of Frid, Smythe, Moltke, & possibly Scott?

Would the audience have accepted the change?  I think it's possible they would have warmed up over time.
When the show returned to the present it probably would feel like seeing a show return after the summer break (which in a way it did to me with the same cast anyway).

Unless the actors were on salary, I don't see money as too much of an issue but I don't know the business.  Obviously there would be the cost of casting calls and whatnot.

I also don't see the show suffering any for it. The only real difference in my opinion would be the loss of excitement and curiosity with which character from the present might show up next and as who(m). Otherwise I can't see how it could hurt. It may even have helped with the show's cred, again, my opinion.

Either way would have worked if you ask me.
