Wow - this really is messy. Especially the part that ABC has signed Alderson, Easton, and Howarth to long-term contracts and is even willing to create new characters for them on GH:

Prospect Park issues statement on disputed GH/OLTL characters

The things is, though, that Prospect Park is perfectly within their rights with what they're doing because, with ABC having sold all the OLTL characters to them, Prospect Park does indeed own the OLTL characters that are appearing on GH, so they have control over what can be done with them.

Debbi Morgan announced via her twitter account that All My Children will start taping new episodes on February 25th.

Like OLTL, the show will pick up the story about a year after the last ABC episode. The cliffhanger, which showed the JR character firing a gun at someone, will be addressed. Since Jacob Young is under contract at Bold and the Beautiful, the character will be recast.

J.R. Martinez, who played Brot is not coming back. Cameron Mathison hopes to reprise Ryan at a later date. It is also strongly rumored that Cady McClain will reprise the part of Dixie but there has been no official announcement as yet.

Cady McClain has signed on. She's the first member of the core Martin family to sign on, so that's a good omen. Other actors should be announced soon. There is a rumor that an AMC alumni would appear as a guest star to help launch the project. Could it be Susan Lucci?

The All My Children reboot has landed two biggies: Susan Lucci and David Canary. Susan is only set to reprise Erica Kane in one episode to help launch the project. She may appear later on, schedule permitting. Canary will appear on a more frequent basis. Not surprising, as he lives in Connecticut.

The reboot will pick up the story five years after the last episode, with the JR character emerging from a coma.  The jump will serve many purposes. It will explain why the town looks different (new sets) and why certain characters aren't around (they moved). Also, the little kids will be aged to their teens.

Expect other announcements in the next few weeks.

What? No vampires? Thank goodness, lol. Thanks for the update, unc. I hope I'll be able to watch this on-line (my browser is older than Barnabas). I am so curious as to how all of this will play out. It may even start a new trend. If on-line shows are relatively inexpensive to produce, we could get a great many interesting shows that wouldn't necessarily see the light of day on cable (we already now that network TV is out of the question).

This is indeed history in the making. From radio to tv to cable to the Internet--it's been quite a transition. Especially for a genre that was supposed on life support. It will be interesting to see how they adapt to the new format.

Does your browser support Hulu or iTunes? I wouldn't be too surprised to see the episodes show up on YouTube after their initial airing.

YouTube gets mad at me and blocks me after a while, lol. But I probably could catch it there, until they go "pay TV" on us. LOL, remember "Pay TV".

Sure do. My father said "Not in my house!"  Wouldn't he be surprised? About that and a few other things. [snow_smileydevil] [snow_happy] [snow_smileydevil]

I'd say more folks are turning in their graves than not. I want to be buried standing up so it doesn't hurt when it's my turn to start spinning.

Susan Lucci has agreed to do one AMC episode, and will do more when Devious Maids, her new Lifetime series, is on hiatus.
David Canary (Adam/Stuart) and Julia Barr (Brooke) are on board.

ABC and Prospect Park seem to have reached a compromise. Roger Howarth will reprise the part of Todd Manning on the OLTL revival. Howarth will be taping episodes in Connecticut, after which he is scheduled to return to General Hospital. No word as yet if similar deals are in the works for either Michael Easton or Kristen Alderson.
