I know one boards cousin who'll be thrilled. Well, two actually. Thanx for reporting this, MB.

I guess that would be me. Sure, I'd be thrilled if it happened but the timing seems a little suspicious to me. Prospect Park's rights to the shows expire in early 2013 after which the rights revert back to the network. Putting the shows back together after a year is going to be a major undertaking. The sets and costumes were disposed of. The veteran actors might be interested in a reboot but most of the younger cast have moved on. I'll be interested in seeing how this plays out but I don't want to get my hopes up.

With so many fewer soaps, I don't know how many of the younger actors have moved on. I haven't seen many of them popping on to existing shows; I'm not talking about soaps....

If I were in charge, I'd start small with a once a week series.  Then I'd try to market to Lifetime or something. If it was a hit, I'd expand and make 2 or 3 episodes a week working up to a full schedule if the demand warranted it. I stopped watchig AMC years ago, but I might have considered going back if it had gravitated to prime time.

I'd make all the soaps 30 minutes. 5 hours a week is too much of a commitment.

This is beginning to sound more and more like a soap.

Prospect Park is "in talks" with Susan Lucci. Lucci is one of the few daytime stars who actually did become a household name, so striking a deal with her (if they do) would give the whole project some much needed credibility.

Prospect Park got an short extension on their licensing deal, which will now expire in February. The OLTL characters that appear on General Hospital are owned by Prospect Park. ABC has to pay a licensing fee to use them. And, as long as the licensing arrangement is in place, they can tell ABC to stop using the characters.

Tune in for more.

I'm keeping my mouth shut. The last time I opened it karma got me Star & Todd, lol. I think AMC has the most to gain though. They left the fans (as if I'm not referring to myself) hanging. But whatevah!

I totally agree. I sure wouldn't object to a dose or two of Cameron Mathison.  [santa_rolleyes] [santa_azn]

Well, the pace has certainly picked up. Plans are to tentatively shoot both shows in Stamford, Connecticut. The plan would be to do 4 half hour episodes a week, with a recap episode on Friday. Sets are "being designed" and cast  negotiations continue. I'm still not sure if I believe that any of this will actually happen but this is further along than they got last year.

The AMC cast all moved to LA. They gonna move back to the East Coast for this? What about a cable outlet? Soapnet is still on the air!

Both shows have hired show runners/executive producers. And the first actor to sign on is All My Children's Lindsay Hartley.

It will be very odd if a series named One Life To Live turns out to have Two Lives To Live.

Hollywood can't seem to get enough of recastings and supposed "re-imaginings" of TV shows.  Might they just totally recast these shows to get around cast availability?   Would this be totally unacceptable to fans?  I know nothing about how soaps work other than DS.
