Is it just me, or did I actually see Anthony George seem to enjoy a scene with Alexandra Moltke??? How odd that their chemistry could so improve by his playing a different character. Makes me wonder if the main source of his ickyness as Burke was discomfort in taking over a role so well done by someone else. Which is ALWAYS a thankless task for an actor.

Regardless, he seems much more relaxed as Jeremiah. Don'tcha think?

Yep -- I didn't like him at all as Burke Devlin, but I actually started to warm up to Anthony George a little (and only a little, mind you :) ) when he was Jeremiah. I think you're right -- as the original actor, Mitchell Ryan put his own stamp on the part of Burke, whereas
with the exception of the bandaged face that rises from the grave later on, we never really knew Jeremiah by any other face except Anthony George.
He was a much more sympathetic role, though, too.

Cheers,

Linda

In total agreement. He is much more likeable in this role. I think alot has to do with it. His taking over from Mitch Ryan could not have been fun for him. You have to put some blame on the writing the lines they gave him as Burke that made him seem so obnoxious.
