OMG! (Slightly OT) Green Suit

Not sure if this should be posted here...

Was watching one of my favorite butch shows, Son's of Anarchy...When all of a sudden, to my shock and disblief a commercial came on for American Horror Story.  And guess what's guest starring.....A CERTAIN GREEN TWEED SUIT THAT SOMEONE WORE INCESSANTLY TO THE POINT OF ANNOYANCE.   I thought they burned that suit! LOL.   It scared me.....

I haven't started that show yet.  But, the lady wearing said suit kind of reminded me of Dr. Hoffman.  Can anyone tell me about this character and if they recognized the suit? 

This show looks intriguing and someone told me that it's my kind of show.   But, I haven't gotten around to it.  I want to know if it's worth collecting on DVD.

I don't know how I didn't make the connection to our beloved Julia's green suit, but yes, the suit the AHS' character Lana Winters wore in last night's second season premiere -

- was very similar to Julia's.

But then, that part of the AHS story takes place in 1964, so the fashion similarity makes sense. And Lana Winters is a professional woman (a journalist), so it also suits her occupation. But to say much more than that would give too much away. 

As for the show itself, I suspect you would like it. This season has just started so I don't know where it's going - but everything I've read about it is certainly intriguing. Though I can quite enthusiastically recommend the first season. To say it was a wild ride would be an understatement!

Now from what I understand, this is an anthology show, so, Season One story was completed in the last eppy of Season One, correct?   I think Jessica Lange is an excellent actress and want to see her in this.

Nah.    But it does seem like it's worth checking out.

I have vivid memories of that very vivid green. Back in those days, that particular green plus turquoise blue was a very popular (and I'm sure non-biodegradable) color combination, as you can see here.

DarkLady darling, that link is fabulous!  but readers need to be warned to put on their sunglasses before clicking!  lol!

I'll never forget this moment circa 1969 when I went over to a friend's house and his Mom drove up in her new sportscar (the family, by the standards of our neighborhood, were very wealthy).  The color had been described as "sub-lime" (*rolls eyes*) and was a kind of acid neon chartreuse.  It was like the apotheosis of Sixties lime green.  I wish I could report that she emerged from the vehicle wearing a sleeveless limegreen summer-dress but alas memory fails at that moment.

We can be certain that the outfit on AHS isn't the same one that our beloved Julia wore because from the front it's quite different (different neckline, single instead of double-breasted, etc.) -

- but it does still share other similarities. Though quite shockingly Miss Winters is not wearing gloves. Our beloved Julia would be horrified!!

Matching shoes and handbag, absolutely! With the three-quarter-length sleeves on that jacket, the gloves should be elbow-length. Any suggestions as to color? I'm thinking dark brown (in cotton) but could be persuaded otherwise.

And if Miss Winters wears a hat, it should match the gloves.

My goodness, Gothick, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that after your friend's mom's sportscare, you've had to wear sunglasses ever since!

They did. In fact, Miss Winters getting out of her car and stamping out a cigarette (smoking being something she also has is common with our beloved Julia) with her shoe was one of the first things we saw of her.

And I do have to apologize because, when I just went back to check the shoes, I noticed that Miss Winters was wearing light brown leather gloves while she was driving her car, but she took them off very soon after getting out. But both the driving with them and the taking them off was shot from behind her, so it's very easy to miss the fleeting glimpses of her gloves unless you're looking for them. But thank heavens no one can accuse her of being some uncoordinatedly and indecently dressed bimbo! 

No hat though...
