OT: Grayson Hall on Route 66
« on: September 22, 2012, 03:14:57 PM »
For those who may be interested and get the channel, Retro TV will be showing Grayson Halls episode of Route 66 entitled Follow the White Dove with the Broken Wing on Monday Sepetember 24th at 4PM Eastern. Do check your schedules because some Retro schedules vary depending on the city. I myself have never seen this one.

In my area MeTV has replaced RTV on two of the channels that used to run RTV - but RTV is still available on one other. Unfortunately, though, that channel is not part of the cable package, so I'm going to have to see if I can pull it in on Monday. Hopefully, because I would love to see Grayson on Route 66 because I've never seen it either. Thanks for the heads up!  [ghost_smiley]

Both RTV & ME TV are here. I wish one of them would air DS!

Grayson was only in one scene in this episode.  It falls about 20 minutes into the show, if I recall aright.

My theory is that the episode was filmed in Fla. (the company apparently toured the US and different episodes were filmed on location, or so I have read) and GH did it there on her way home from Mexico.  Of course she could just have easily done it in LA which is actually closer to Puerto Vallarta as the crow flies.

Wow - that has to have been one of the most depressing episodes of a TV show that I've ever seen. And I seriously doubt the supposed turnaround at the end taught the vigilante kids much or was anything like a life changing moment for them. Not to mention that the sad thing is that not much has changed in the almost 50 years since the ep was originally broadcast.

But anyway, I'm glad I saw it for Grayson, and here are some screen caps of her scene:

It's also interesting that the ep guest starred not just one future soap star in Grayson but also Martin Hulswit (Search for Tomorrow, Loving, Guiding Light, All My Children, and One Life to Live) and Jacqueline Courtney (Another World, One Life to Live and Loving).

Thanx for providing such beautiful captures, MB. And posting them for those of us who weren't fortunate enough to be able to watch it ourselves. What a treat!

After watching the OS on VHS tapes on one of those giant plastic screen rear projection TVs today, these seem like they were taken on set!

These are stunning, MB.  Much better quality than the copy I have stashed away somewhere of the episode.

Glad you were able to snare the episode, and I'm hugely impressed that you posted these beauties so quickly!

Now I feel like watching Grayson again...

Have to agree MB. Course, by this time Route 66 already had a cast change and this episode was one of the last ones filmed - so I think they were pretty much playing out the string. Still, like you say - it was great to see Grayson if only briefly.
