This has probably been mentioned elsewhere, but ... wouldn't that wall have been very, very easy to push over until the mortar dried?!?  In the Poe story, the victim is chained to the wall (as was Barnabas that time he was walled up in the basement of the Old House) and thus couldn't reach the newly constructed brick wall.  In this case, though, Trask could easily have pushed or kicked it down.

I guess a little "suspension of disbelief" is in order ...  :D

Also, when you think of it ... Quentin's room is pretty nice accommodations ... can it really be all that bad?   ;D  I mean, Trask could have been manacled by the arms (as Barnabas was by Trask's ancestor) in a cold damp dungeon ...

A person could go mad in there trying to figure out where the heck Quentin hid the bed.

That might be one of the reasons he was so tired.  HE doesn't know where the damned bed is either!

[grinb]

PS  I think he said he hadn't slept in 3 days

I recall seeing a nice bed in Beth's room, I'm sure Amanda had a nice bed while she lived in Collinwood, Quentin  did not need a bed of his own to sleep in, there were many other beds much more comfortable in and around Collinwood.    ;)

It was "quick-dry" mortar.  (For those special occasions when time is of the essence)
A certain amount of hurry-up was involved.

I was suprised to see Quentin's grammaphone still up there in his room since Judith had mentioned to Quentin that she had all of his belongings moved to the "green" room, wherever that may be.  I would think that his grammophone would be very important to him since he loved to play it all the time.

Do you suppose there were two grammaphones? Or do you think he had the servants cart the one grammaphone between the drawing room and his suite? I can't quite picture Quentin lugging that thing up and down the stairs.

Glad you brought the grammaphone up, Cassandra. I always wanted to ask about it but never remembered to.

Maybe Judith left the grammaphone in the room on purpuse.  I can just imagine her thinking good I won't have to listen to that dam music any more.  I know my mother would have like to break or stomp on some of the music I listened to all day.  As nice as some music is the same music day in and night could drive you over the edge.

Not only that, did you notice (or not notice, as the case may be) how blase Quentin's reaction was when Judith told him the news? Judith:  Oh, by the bye, while you were out for a few hours, I decided to close off the section of the house where you live and we've removed (some of) your belongings!  Quentin: Oh, sure, what the hay.

I'd be more than a little perturbed, and rather concerned about retrieving some of my belongings.

Jennifer, I think Angelique or Cassandra went into a bathroom off her and Edward's or whoever's bedroom suite and flushed some poison or something down the toilet once.

Yes, there were two gramaphones.  The designs on them differed.

** BTW, I also think based on episodes in the last three weeks that THERE WERE TWO JOSETTE'S MUSIC BOXES!! **
