There are two things that Im wondering about with this whole Petofi thing going to the future that Im trying to make sense of so maybe some of the others here have a better explanation for this.
First - Okay, now that Count Petofi has switched bodies with Quentin, he is no longer in danger from the gyspies right? Well why does he have to go to the future then? Since they're no longer a threat to him does he really need to go? Yet he's willing to sacrafice any poor soul that comes along just to find the right hexagram. What's the big rush?
And 2nd - When the real Quentin (in Petofi's body) was in the rectory room with Julia he had heard the same voices from the future as Julia did. This is what made Julia finally believe that he's really Quentin. Now this has got me wondering if perhaps Count Petofi
can't really go to the future because his
real soul or spirit isn't really there in 1969. After seeing this scene in the rectory I would think that it's really the person's spirit or "essence" that has to be available in the future and not just the body.
