In memory of the late Davy Jones, MeTV , which is what TVLand used to be like, will be running an episode of "Love American Style" in which Davy co-stars with DS's Kathy Cody. This airs at 1:30 pm ET. Davy and Kathy play newlyweds I believe. This follow a Love American Style with Davy and Karen Valentine, and the classic Davy Jones episode of The Brady Bunch at 12:30 pm ET. For more Davy Jones, Antenna TV is running a Monkees marathon concurrently.

I invited a friend over for a Davy Jones marathon when I saw this posted. Thank you, CyrusL. Watched the shows and found Kathy Cody a little easier to take on "Love American Style" than as Hallie or Carrie on DS. Hadn't David Henesy replaced Davy Jones as a current teen idol around this point? Imagine: Davy Jones... as David Collins (due to the illness of David Henesy, the role of David will be played by..."). David comes back from a trip to Boston with a five-o'clock shadow and a British accent, humming "Daydream Believer"! The family suspects Gerard is involved...
Kathy Cody seemed so much older here - to be married to Davy Jones in the episode, and this was just a few years after her appearance on Dark Shadows, where she couldn't have been more than fifteen!

I love the crazy Monkees Monster Mash episode where a Dracula-like Count and his insidious daughter (Davy's girlfriend!) transform the boys into a vampire, a werewolf and a mummy, if I'm remembering correctly. It was all pretty kooky.

My personal favorite Davy Jones moment, ever, was the film of him riding a horse while a recording of "I wanna be free" played, on the first season of The Monkees. It seems ironic that he died while he was with his horses, which he said to have adored.

Rest in peace, Davy.
