Gerard, maybe they used their handy-dandy color "converter" -- you know, that silly translucent plastic sheet you'd position over the TV screen, so that the bottom of the screen would be shaded in green (for realistic grass, of course), the top in blue (for the sky), and the middle in flesh tones (for faces).

I can't believe people actually bought those things.

We had one of those, Ben! On the box, there was that drawing of a family sitting in front of their set with gleeful surprise, as their b&w magically became color. Of course, after watching through it for just ten minutes, you got a headache. Fortunately, you couldn't use it any longer than that because you had to attach it using scotch tape, and the heat of the screen (that's when sets threw off more radiation than Chernobyl) would melt the glue, causing the "converter" to peel and fall off.

Wow, Ringo, what an archive you have! The numbers tell another story: "$2.98" (especially the "98") and the "3" as the shorthand, one-digit zip, which was all you needed back then for your letter to find its way around the Big Apple.

O'Reilly is on the Fox News Network - has the highest rated news/commentary show on cable TV.

My crushes back when I was a widdo kid to a teeny-bopper were, of course, TLATKLS, Annette, Miss Louann from Romper Room, Marcia Brady, and Lori Partridge. I also had a thing for Penny Robinson, but only in the third season. Today, it's just TLATKLS. I can't handle anything more than that (and don't need too ---- sigh!)

THAT answers that! I have all the news networks skipped on the remote, and really only surf with the 'favorites' button - about 5 channels!. Even with the new, strange work schedule [used to work 40 hrs a week, now just about 15 or so, and making more, doing weird things, like photographing spray bottles for 6 hours, but I have to 'play salesman' everytime the phone rings!], I have so little time to watch any 'reality' stuff, and that stuff usually just makes me mad! - just barely have time to watch the 'important stuff' like DS, and 'What's My Line' from 1962 everyday! AND there is so much music to listen to, the older I get the more greedy I get with my time! The only reason I know about the CNN babe is I worked near the CNN Center for a while and saw her in person!

But how could I leave out Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!!
