Hi Anne. Perhaps we will be seeing more original props long buried appear on Ebay with the upcoming movie?
Love, Jim

It's the real deal!  Back in the 80s it was sold at auction during a DS Festival, and I was there!

Thanks Charles. I would expect that the final bid will be more than what it sold for in the 80s.

Joe Collins bought the portrait, and after his death his close friend donated it to the Haunted Mansion of Kissimmee in his honor, and after that place went out of business it sold in 1999 for $3000 on ebay, and now this.

If it really is in excellent condition as described in this sale, it would have to have been restored because it was in terrible shape in 1999.  That's something a buyer should definitely ask about.

Thanks Midnite so much for the background information. I hope the serious buyers will be asking all of the right questions especially spending over $6,000 on the painting. You are so right.
