Dom...this may be a question for you...
If one were to read a message in the archived talk, then reply to it, would it push it into current talk thread?

Happy New Year

Hi Patti, Happy New Year!

I didn't know the answer to your question, so I tried it. No, a new reply to a topic on an archived board only brings the topic to the top of that particular archive. It does not kick that topic onto the current talk thread.

Good question, I wondered about that myself. Now we all know.

Dom

PS - By the way, the post does show up as a new post for those who use the New Postings icon/link. And of course, that particular archive would show the new postings blue dot icon on the Forums' home page. It's safe to say that such a post would not go unnoticed.

No you're not.  Have you tried viewing the message using Explorer?, cuz the Shadow feature (plus Glow and Move) don't show up in any of the Netscape versions that the forum allows.  Actually, though, the whole message is shadowed in green-- turtle green. :D

Midnite...I noticed the entire green.
Can you please (in your spare time ;D  ) look at what I did...it was supposed to be
green: Who's the Man
large (which it is) Dom's the Man
then just regular (black) running text...
where oh where did I go wrong???

(ps...did you see MY posting on testing 123 about new board????)

My apologies!-- I thought you were saying that the shadowing didn't show up, but now I realize you were saying that the text wasn't showing up, duh!  It's fixed now-- when something won't show up for you, try breaking up its surrounding code onto separate lines, like this
Code: [Select]
[shadow=green,left,300]
who's the man?[/shadow]

Actually, Patti, there won't really be a new board. Things will look and, even for the most part, act pretty much the same. But underneath it'll be a whole new ball game.

How's that for being teasingly vague? [lghy]
