Hello all,

Is it just me or does Nancy look heavier in the 1897 period?  I mean, typically she is whisper thin.  Can't tell if it's her or the clothes?

Any ideas?

I think it's just that awful Great Grandmama Mother of Norman Bates hairstyle that her character has to wear on the show for this time period.

Also, the less eye make-up tends to make her face look fuller and rounder.  As for the clothes,  IMO they make everyone look a bit fuller in this storyline.  Joan Bennett was also very slim but you'd never know it by judging from the dresses she wears in 1897.

Well, I have always thought so too. Part of it was that she was playing a less attractive character though. I myself have wondered if the notorious "15" lbs. that tv adds to your appearance is true of color tv and not black and white.

It's the hair and the clothes they have her in--the nightgown doesn't help much and her dresses are frumpy in the extreme.
