I'm not familiar with the author, but loved this statement:  "It was vampire and werewolf crack and I was a spook fiend."

Yes, I loved that too. And I suspect that's a good portion of how/why most of us got hooked.

Fun article, although I was a bit confused until I realized that "quaffed fur" should have been "coiffed fur." I was wondering how the werewolf drank fur. So much for Spell Check.

Sadly we all know only too well that Spell Checks only check for correct spelling, not usage.    Someone should really incorporate some sort of Grammar Check into them. Though I suspect that's still several years off because at this point it would be a hugely complicated bit of programming. But that being said -
