Setup:

Flora: Oh, dear, how did Gabriel turn into a pusillanimous drunk?
Julia: Not to point fingers - never that! - but your first cousin once removed on your mother's side was a pusillanimous drunk.  And your second cousin twice removed on your mother's side...

... drank himself to death because he was so cowardly, then was still cowardly  as a ghost, making him posthumously pusillanimous.
