Grandmama Edith is one female who can't be swayed by Quentin's charm.  He couldn't weasel the secret out of her.  I guess it was a blooper when she called him Edward instead of Quentin but many older people are forgetful--they will go through several names before they get it right.

My favorite blooper from this period is when Quentin refers to her as Grandma-mamma!

Can anyone tell me when the famous "Grandmamamama" blooper is? I don't want to miss that one.

I thought it a little odd, that "Grandmamamma" would tell her grandson that he makes her feel young! That very much implies a flirtatious aspect to their relationship, for me. (Most of us feel quite OLD at the thought of a grandchild, and he wasn't her first either.) Leave it to Quentin!

GREAT chemistry in the scene with Terry Crawford BTW! They are so gorgeous together.

Me neither.

Ah...what a glorious day.  Finally...The Q-Man Speaketh.

How come no one's mentioned that great line from today?  It's one of my all-time favorites:

"You're quite right, Grandmama!  Seeing Edward IS reason enough to die."
ROFL -- love it.

Love Grandmama too -- she's great.

I admit I'm biased, but I've always thought that Grandmama (both now and in 1840 before she's a grandmama) and her relationship with all of her grandchildren is more than a little odd :)

Today he said, "Grandmama-mama."

I hadn't noticed it before but read the posts about the blooper.  It didn't sound so obviously a slip.

My experience has been the contrary.  My grandparents told me on many occasions one of the reasons they enjoyed having me visit them and stay for prolonged periods of time was because I "made them feel younger."  One of the joys, in their mind, of having grandchildren was having the perfect excuse to being a "kid" again in some respects and doing some things people their age didn't normally do.

It was a good reminder of how much age tends to be in our heads rather than our hearts.

Even though it was an obvious blooper, it couldn't've been better timed, with Grandmamamamamama saying how easily she now confused all of them in her old age, thinking Edward was Carl and Carl was Quentin and Quentin was Judith.  Well, maybe not that.
