Help Now IE for Mac No Longer Works

When using IE5.2 for Mac OSX i now get an error message that I'm trying to get in through the wrong url and to try www.dsboards.com and update my bookmarks.  The problem is this is the url I'm tryting to get in with.  This just started happening this morning.  Last night I had no problems with IE.  Between this and the Netscape issue I can no longer post to this board from home.  HELP!

The URL someone had to use was:

http://www.dsboards.com/ (with that last "/" (which newer versions of Netscape automatically add if someone forgets to type it themselves - but IE doesn't)), but I've amended the code so that now http://www.dsboards.com (without the last "/") will also work.

If that doesn't fix your problem, then you're going to have to give me details of exactly what you're doing before you receive an error.

I still can't get in with either address.  Typing in the url with or without the "/" still gets me nowhere.  I can get in through my history tab from prior visits before Tuesday night.  I have no idea why.

I believe you. However, the forum's access log says that you've never tried to get in using either http://www.dsboards.com/ or http://www.dsboards.com :-/

A few people had a very similar problem trying to get into the archive. I had no idea why it came up then, just like I have no idea why you're getting it now. A few of them were able to upgrade their browsers and that corrected the problem for them. Sadly, that's not an option for you because you already have the latest Mac version of IE. Apparently there must be something different about the way the Mac version reports environment variables - and, unfortunately I don't currently have access to a Mac to see if I can figure out what might be going on.

About the only thing I can suggest is that if you still have Netscape 6, or if you have the hard disk space to install it again (you can have more than one working version installed), try using it until the issues with Netscape 7 get resolved.

I like Netscape 6 for Windows. But I have no idea how the Mac version may work.
