(I watched The Doctors back in the day - especially after Nancy Barrett joined the cast after DS ended. And I love Elizabeth Hubbard. But then who wouldn't love her?! Though as great as she was as Althea Davis (which, not incidentally, is a role Virginia Vestoff took over for a time when EH was off for a while), she was spectacular as Lucinda Walsh on As The World Turns. She was a true Master Class in acting in that role!!)

Same here. I had watched The Doctors occasionally before Nancy was on but I watched it on a regular basis when she joined the cast. I also remember Armand Assante, Gil Gerard and Julia Duffy. I had stopped watching by the time Jim Storm was on the show. To say nothing of Kathleen Turner.
Did you ever see Virginia Vestoff on The Tonight Show back then? She sang something from 1776 (I presume.). She discussed replacing Elizabeth Hubbard. There was some sort of crisis that found Nick Bellini in jeopardy. Hubbard's Althea walked out of wherever she was, saying that she was going to take care of Nick. Vestoff's Althea came back and took care of Nick.

([pointing-up]  Unfortunately I missed her appearance on the Tonight Show. Nowadays it would be online. The things we missed out on back in the day that we never even realized we were missing out on!!  [sad3])

There's a chance that it may still exist. I remember seeing it at least twice. Once on the original run. And then a year or so later (during or after her run on DS) on the Best of Carson which NBC showed on Saturday nights before the premiere of SNL.

([pointing-up]  Those Best of Carson shows are on some of the retro stations. I should keep an eye on them...)

Imdb is still good for something. It says that she made 2 appearances on The Tonight Show in 1970, as well as a visit to The Mike Douglas Show in 1972. It adds the Tonight Show ones are available for streaming
