Donna Wandrey did a very nice job with the "I'm free" business.  It was very silly, and she made it believable.

We got more information about the strange relationship between Claude and Roxanne, but it didn't help much.  She said the knife brought them together, but did she mean that it brought them together via the vow or that it brought them together in the first place?

How did Julia keep that candle going for so long?
