CELL CATCH
« on: September 02, 2002, 09:39:44 PM »
A number of post have mentioned the notion of cell phone usage at present day Collinwood. There were many times that such an invention would have come in handy and no doubt changed the outcome of events. When and how would it make a difference?
It is a good day because I am still ticking!

Haha, Dark Shadows wouldn't have been the same if everyone walked around with cell phones...

David in secret mausoleum room: "Hey, I'm stuck in a secret room, and, uuhhh, Barnabas is a vampire, bye."

Of course, the writers would have the characters not be able to get signals at all the wrong moments...
Three hundred and twenty years have passed since the coven sank in the dark...

as someone mentioned earlier, a cell phone would have been handy for barnabas after the ghost of trask sealed him up in the wall. and david sure could have used one locked in that mauseoleum.. i wonder if barnabas could have used his when william h loomis locked him in the coffin in 1970 pt, and called julia in regular time? and when julia buried the barnster alive after she thought he had died...love to hear that converation.
julia...hello
barnabas...hello julia, guess who this is?
julia...omg,barnabas???
barnabas.....yes, julia, its me, i was just lying around, thought i would call you and ask how all that fresh air and sunlight is where you are.
julia.....%#&*  i thought you were dead, where are you?
barnabas....DUH, i will give you one guess.
julia...ok barnabas, i will be there in a few minutes, have to take care of davids stubbed toe first
barnabas...sure julia, take your time, i am sure there is plenty of air in this sealed coffin...$#&*(&%$ it julia, get your ass over here NOW, and get me the heck out of this ^$$&&  coffin!!!  i will be, not laying here, accepting this!!!
julia....oh barnabas, dont get your panties in a wad, its not that bad.
barnabas.....NOT THAT BAD!!!!???  *&%#&*((^$%*
julia....you are breaking up barnabas, i will see you in a bit. (julia exits collinwood, with big smirk on her face)
its a sudden death that i know, my father wrote me to say that, my cousin, uncle jeremiah was, was very disturbed.

When Matthew Morgan kept Vicki prisoner in the secret room, she could have dialed with her nose and yelled to whoever answered, "Hey, save my ass!  I'm being held prisoner in a secret room at the Old House, behind the bookcase in the drawing room!  Matthew, what are you doing with that axe????   Nooooooooo!"  (Trails off in a death gurgle.)

Love, Robin

Oh hell, even I know you can't call parallel time with a cell phone.

Hey, that would be a great idea for poor Liz to use! Maybe then she wouldn't worry so much about being "buried alive" and we'd all be relieved! [wink2]
She just has to make sure it's fully charged, otherwise we just might hear her say, CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?![smash] [smash]         [/b]   and if that's the case, they just might decide to leave her there!![wavey]

Of course, the cell phones would only prove useful as long as there was no static.  Otherwise...

Barnabas: Willie!  I said, 'I'm at the coffin.  Bring me a hammer and a stake,' not ham and steak!  How am I supposed to destroy Tom Jennings with these?

ROFL  [hello]

Well, now there's an interesting thought. Why couldn't you call Parallel Time with a cell phone? Let's say Barnabas has his cell with him when he goes into the PT room and it changes to PT; couldn't he page Julia's cell phone in regular time?

Would the cell phones work from hell? And vice versa? Would Nicholas Blair or Angelique simply be able to pick up the phone and call their master? Or would static be an issue?

How about time travel? Let's say Vicki takes her cell phone with her back to 1795. Could she call Elizabeth in 1968 and tell her she's doing all right?
