   My 18 year old son who has been to a few fest's saw the movie last night. He said David Selby had a good size part and was in a lot of the movie.  He also said the movie was good..

With all the attention this film is getting, let's hope the spotlight extends to David's performance- especially within the sight of Academy members.......

Jesse Eisenberg was on Ellen DeGeneres today, and before he came out they showed the clip with David Selby from the link in reply #12. It was almost like having Selby on the show.  

One thing, though - Eisenberg seems to be laboring under the belief that Zuckerberg created the Internet. Hmmm... Maybe it's just me, but I seem to remember having been on the Internet and quite active at that long before Facebook ever came along.

And it didn't take long to spot you - the very first shot of the audience at the very beginning of the show and there you (and another forum member ) were.  

Imagine if Selby had been there in person during your taping. Though if he had been, I suspect that, as much as you love him, you would have been less "enthusiastic" than Kelli Pickler was for Clint Eastwood. That was an experience Eastwood isn't likely to forget!

LOL  It's funny you should say that since her behavior reminded me of the fan who sat on Selby's lap while he was in front of a Fest audience... because their reactions were the same-- extreme discomfort.

I finally got to see The Social Network yesterday. If you are a Selby fan GO!!! He is in it alot, at least the first half. The second half his character disappears due to how the storyline is structured and they focus on the founder of Napster (Justin Timberlake) getting involved with Facebook. My big complaint is that the film is 2 hours and it feels it. But the script is pure Aaron Sorkin so if you like his writing you'll like this.

MB, I am assuming that Ellen showed the "faceoff" scene between Selby and Eisenberg. Good stuff!

i still want to see this. i loved the last tv show he did with "Matthew Perry" a couple years back. it really pissed me off that it got cancelled when it did. but i was happy that it at least got a send off episode.

Not sure what series you're thinking of because Selby never did a show with Matthew Perry.

The DVD release date for The Social Network was announced today. It will be out on January 11. The film has been getting a lot of awards-related attention in recent days, and, rightly or wrongly, it's being cited as part of the reason why Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg was named Time's Person of the Year. (At this point, I could get really off topic and comment on the pick, but I won't.  )

oh i was talking about "Get Real" the show that "Jessie E." was in with "Anne Hathway" sorry for the confusion. it took me a minute to remember what i was talking about. sorry for the confusion. i've heard mix reports on this film. some say it was a good film. others say it's terrible.
