Attention RESTORATION enthusiasts- jump on over and chat!
« on: August 28, 2002, 09:34:03 AM »
Hi folks.

Odd request.

I've started a thread on the Home Theater Forum about the DS movies restorations and haven't gotten any response. Pretty depressing, really... :-/ Apparently there aren't too many DS fans who frequent the site.

Anyway, it's a site that's monitored closely by studio home video departments (for better or worse) and it might help if some readers joined the thread with questions, comments, enthusiasm, etc. The longer the thread stays up and active, the more visible it will be to the uninitiated.

You may have to join to post, but its easy and fairly painless.

The link directly to the thread is:

Thanks!
D

Hey, all y'all who've been reading this post--please go on over as Darren suggests and post your wish to see NODS and HODS in restored versions.    Come on--make a difference in DS Fandom!!  Let the powers that be at WB and TCM know how much we want to see these films in their restored formats.

Just to let you know, I joined and it was painless.  But more than that to let everyone know that I want to see this movie again.  I remember the first time and sat through it twice at my small home town theater.  From the first time I watched DS I was hooked.  I would rush home off the bus and get in the door just as the music started plop down in the floor and be enthralled for 1/2 hour.   Always wishing it would go on and on.
So, anytime I can be of help to get the word out about DS I will!!!
Oh, Roger!

Hi Darren -

I tried to post in your thread at Home Theater Forum, but so far it won't let me.  I registered, it shows me as logged in, but I still get a message saying either I'm not logged in, or don't have access to the page, etc.  I'll try again tomorrow.

I WAS able to follow your link to TCM though, and request the restored NODS.  I want so badly to see the film as it was originally intended to be seen.

Hey!  Loved reading your account of finding the lost footage in the DS Almanac.

The exact same thing happened to me. I'll give it a try later this evening.

Thanks, Connie. Glad you enjoyed it!

Nice to see others posting as well. Usually once you log in with your name and password you stay logged in-much like this board!

Did they email your password to you?

Hi Darren,

Yeah - but it doesn't matter.  I can now just hop over to the page and post.  Don't have to login or anything.  Guess it just took a little time for the board to register me or whatever.

Your first post in this thread....have you posted it elsewhere?  If not would you like me to forward it to some Yahoo DS groups or anything??
