Not having seen a great deal of the original series, I never quite realised how much emphasis there was on Witchcraft in this show.  And if there is one overiding reason why Dan Curtis doesn't pursue another varient of DS, I think we're looking at it.

We've reached the saturation point with stories about witches.  We've had "Charmed" and we've got "Passions" and "Buffy" and I don't know what-all else.  It's been 'done'.  'Done' to death, actually.  Who would tune in to see yet another one?

And all this time I thought this show was about a Vampire!

I, for one, wouldn't mind if the 'dabblers' moved on to the next big thing and left the Craft alone.  ;)
