Meet Mr. Frid

Highlight of my day:  Renee, Selena and I chatted with Jonathan Frid in the lobby of the Marriott about 30 minutes ago.  No one was around so we said hello.  Selena, who is 9 yrs old is frightened of Barnabas Collins so we asked Mr. Frid to assure her he was not as bad as she thinks.  He laughed and told Selena to "sleep tight" in a menacing but joking way!  He seems to be very relaxed and enjoying himself as are we!

What a wonderful experience, Teresa!

I'm not sure what I'd say if I ran into Mr. Frid that he hasn't heard before. I did see him walk by when I was using my cell phone in the pool area on Friday morning. I didn't realize he was 86 until he mentioned that today during the cast reunion. His wit and charm are so wonderful, such a gentleman unlike so many of today's younger stars. It's hard to picture anyone less urbane and cultured playing Barnabas in the future, IMO.

It was wonderful to see you Philippe!  I did find him charming and quite witty during the weekend and it was nice to see him interacting with many fans.  I'm sure he made many of their day~

It was surprising how little people I knew had changed.  [ghost_cheesy]

And Lara Parker actually looked younger. She must have a pact with some powers of the netherworld, or maybe a portrait in her attic that does the aging ...

What a great story about meeting Mr. Frid in the lobby, I do think he has enjoyed coming back to the Fests.  However, I think he is 85 and won't be 86 til December...
