It always nice to see the houses used for DS get publicity. Thanks for the link.  [ghost_smiley]

Wasn't the original Stepford Wives filmed there too?

Midnite nice catch and I of course agree MB. I got this info from a site discussing its remake: http://www.contactmusic.com/new/home.nsf/webpages/thestepfordwives2x19x07x04

"The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum in Norwalk, Connecticut became the center of all Stepford wives activity. The museum, which had housed the Stepford Men’s Organization in the original 1975 film, was the only former location site revisited by the current production. "

Thanks for the link about the remake, jimbo.

A writer acknowledging the remake of TSW while ignoring the classic original-- is this an omen of sorts that Burton's DS movie will have reviewers citing that it's the first motion picture inspired by the series?  <sigh>

Hopefully it's not an omen for the Depp/DS film.  [ghost_nowink]

And, yes, the original TSW was a classic. The remake definitely fell short by comparison, despite its great cast. But then, basically turning the story into a comedy wasn't exactly a good choice.

Thanks Midnite. It seems the new generation of DS fans and writers are much more exposed to the 1991 series via Hulu and Chiller. Hopefully the original show will find its way back on TV. When the new movie is reviewed, if the writers are any good they will do their homework and pay the proper respect to the original DS and its theatrical movies. The original should never be ignored and let's hope that will be the case. The remake fell short but MB you are right about how great the casting was.

Good writers will. But the sad thing is, and we see it time and time again, and not just in regards to DS, actually doing research appears to be a step far too many writers have completely dispensed with these days. And their writing definitely suffers for it. Though, apparently, they haven't quite grasped that fact.  [ghost_rolleyes]

Americans predominantly don't think they need to know history, theirs or anyone else's.
And it funnels into everything, even something as relatively speaking, as minor as TV or film remakes.
majorly--current events. But 'nuff said.
