[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

Try to recoup their losses by having a bake sale.

     Brilliant idea that I'm sure would work!! 

Yeah, especially since his other plans worked out so well.

(  True - though a bake sale has broader appeal, unlike creating artificial life and resurrecting an ancient race. Well, it has broader appeal IF they're selling delectable pastries. But with Nicholas I suppose there's no guarantee that that's what he'd be baking and selling.  )

(The bake sale would have to include, somehow, a big newly-born dufus of some kind!)

(  That's probably very true because apparently all his plans do!    (And believe it or not, I'd never thought of it that way until you pointed it out!  ))
