!! ALERT !! ALERT !! ALERT !! ALERT !! ALERT !!

Be sure to set your VCRs (or perhaps be sure NOT to ;)) for tomorrow's second episode on Sci-Fi (#567) because RD's Jeff will touch his hair not only once, not only twice - not even only three times - but a mind boggling sixteen times.

You've been warned! [wink2]

!! ALERT !! ALERT !! ALERT !! ALERT !! ALERT !!

This concludes our hair touching alert. We return you to our regular postings...

Sixteen times?

You've counted them?

Just how boring IS your real job?

How else do you think the tally increases - the hair touching counter elves? ::)

THIS place IS my REAL job. It certainly consumes more of my time than anything in my "real" life! [lghy] But it's also more fun than my "real" job. Working on the technical end of the forum is like being in IT heaven - all the fun and none of the pressure. ;)

Let me get this straight.....you're either currently watching every episode with pencil and paper in hand, drawing 5-count gates as you count up the hair-touching.....or at SOME point in your life you sat and counted them....and that's how you know what to post on the tally EVERY DAY?

Actually, I haven't watched a DS episode since the end of the original Laura stroyline ran on Sci-Fi last October. Even though I have it on tape, I'd only watched that plot once previous to that. (I didn't see it back in the '60s because I didn't start watching DS until 9/67.)
No, I remember enough about these episodes to know when RD is going to touch his hair, so I pop an episode in the VCR and fast forward through it, mentally counting off whenever he touches his hair. Actually sitting through his touching and counting it in real time would be much too painful to endure. [wink2]

You haven't seen these episodes for....what, years?.....and you REMEMBER WHEN RD IS GOING TO TOUCH HIS HAIR??!!

Okay, I'm standing in awe of your dedication to this forum, and to OUR ravenous need for ever more details, anecdotes, and tidbits, not to mention your obviously awesome powers of recollection.

I'm also thinking you're mad as a hatter, but what the hell....nobody's perfect.

You wouldn't be the first to accuse me of that. But it's nothing that several years of intensive therapy couldn't cure. [lghy]

And besides, ma petite tourterelle detraque, the feeling is mutual. [wink2]

I often think of Jeff Clark and his relationship with Vicki as the true Curse of Collinwood!

Ya know, I'd just like to say that before I came to this forum's previous incarnation, Vantagenet, I used to watch DS and all of Mr. Davis' very loud characterizations with annoyance, but without noticing much else (other than that he was very loud, very bad, and seemed to like to physically manhandle his female costars).

And then, and then someone here (I won't name names) decided to mention Roger Davis' little habit of touching his hair.

And now, it's impossible for me not to notice ;)

It really doesn't bother me that much, I mean, the other things that Luciaphil mentioned are just so much worse, the hair touching doesn't really register.

I'm also refusing to believe that he touches his hair 16 times in one episode.  Thats just ridiculous.

Wait and see (snicker) and IIRC, this little mannerism gets worse and worse ;)

His touching his hair doesn't bother me.
But if I was one of the actresses, I'd bop him
one for messing up my do!

But it is! You have to remember that French is an idiomatic language, which can't necessarily be translated literally into English. It was said with total love and affection.  :-*

By now I would have thought you'd come to regard me as your very own Pepe Le Pu.
