LOL the werewolf dumped his jacket somewhere, but looks very natty in his shirt and vest. Not a spot of blood on him or a sign of ripped clothing where the bullet supposedly went in his chest.
Another snicker in the replayed scene from the last episode is the timing on the “What are you”. First time Barn had his fangs bared, and that’s why she said it. This time, he didn’t get his mouth open yet when she said the line. And interestingly enough for someone who’s scared and wants him to stay away, she’s offering up her neck on just the right angle.
Apparently Beth is still able to resist Barnabas. It takes him quite a few attempts, despite her post bite languor, before she finally tells him what he wants to know. He seems awfully surprised; surely there’s a pretty short list of people Beth would defend so carefully, so he must have considered Quentin as a possible suspect.
Again different angle of the room, with a huge chifferobe in addition to the chest of drawers by the bed. I say it again, real impressive room for the ladies maid. Another nice job by TC in this scene. Once Barnabas gets her to talk, I think it’s more than just his powers that make the whole thing spill out. She said right out she doesn’t know if she trusts him (again, interesting considering the total power we’ve seen him exert over other victims), but the poor thing has been keeping it all inside for so long, no one she could even breathe a word to, that once he knows, all the doubts and fears come spilling out. I’m wondering though if he should have told her more, so she could know and between them try to change the outcome. Later on, we find out they let Quentin in on what he would become, so one would think Barnabas would use that here, given Beth has the same vested interest that Quentin does in NOT ending up dead.
Magda and Judith are a fun scene as always. Bet Magda thought real hard about fishing that gun back out and aiming it at Judith. And Magda leaves the window OPEN with Wolfie Q running loose.
Of course Beth and Barn pick right then to come down and talk in the vestibule, so Magda knows all. Ok NOW wolfie is looking properly messed up. Beth almost gave it away there, telling about Barnabas, then added the story about him coming by. No comment from Judith on Beth’s new jewelry? That pentagram is awfully obvious the way she’s wearing it. Its like taking out an ad. Good thing she was wandering the vestibule, she does back and her room’s been trashed again -INCLUDING THE BLACK BORDERED AFGHAN we see under the mattress.
And the werewolf corners Judith in the vestibule. Interesting how Beth made it down in time and confronts it so confidently with the pentagram. She’s never tried it before, but she’s sure confident that it will work. Judith apparently didn’t spot the pentagram and how it was used, but scared or not she picked up on how Beth scared the wolf away. Though, apparently though she noticed the wolf had clothes, she didn’t recognize the ONLY set of clothes her baby brother apparently owns.
And there’s wolfie on the rock again, doing his imitation of the White Rock mermaid, when Magda shoots him and he falls.
