My mom is back to being a DS fan again!

My mom has recently been watching my DS dvd's...and she's loving it! She had forgotten how much she had enjoyed them when she first started watching them 40 years ago. She's determined to watch the whole show.

We've actually been able to talk about the show and the characters. She's totally re-hooked. She especially enjoyed the Laura and Jason/Elizabeth stories.

I'm no longer the sole DS fan in my family, I'm happy to say.

That's great!!  I saw about the 2nd half of the show while it was on originally, and when home from college in the summer, introduced my mother to it and she continued watching after I went back.  Then, years later, when I was able to rent the videos, and later when SciFi had it on, she and my aunt watched with me and we all loved it.

All I remember my mother commenting on was that she knew Joan Bennett... now I'm starting to know JB the movie star a little bit.  My father would have been cursing under his breath, if he ever saw it...

when i was a kid i used to watch "falcon  crest" with my mom.

she always remarked how good looking david selby was and how she remembered him playing someone named "quentin" on a show called "dark shadows".at the time i had no idea what she was talking about...now it's a different story obviously.

she's watched it with me a few times when she's come to visit.quentin and barnabas are the only two characters she remembers so if they're not on a particular episode she gets confused because she's under the impression that they were both on it from the beginning and it's "about them" and i have to explain that there are lots of other characters and storylines.

she gets a mild kick out of it but certainly wouldn't invest the time we all have.

You're all lucky! I intend to get my mum to watch some DS - the early soap episodes more than the supernatural ones - but it's a no go so far. Nobody I know has even heard of it, partly as it's American, partly as it's a 60s show! Well, they've heard of it now, because I'm capable of babbling on about it for an inordinate amount of time, but that doesn't make them want to ship over expensive DVDs. Drat!

Well, get a generator for your basement and a closed-lipped flunky to dig up the bodies.

Big Finish, a UK Dr Who fan organization, is now making DS audios with DS actors.   I'm not sure if UK DW fandom is becoming more aware of DS, but pester some DW fans, that might yield results...

I've been thinking about getting the Big Finish audios. I have several of their Doctor Who range and have been very impressed.
