The Prop Project, Gold and Red Afghan

Now remember we can include the times it traveled through time. What is your favorite time when you saw it. Do you know how it traveled from place to place?

This is the other afghan, right?  It had bigger squares than the afghan that was on the sofa in the Evans Cottage.  I never think of it as gold and red; I see brown and yellow.  Is there really some red in it?  I'll have to look more closely next time I see it.

It was in Angelique's attic room in 1795.  She was good with yarn (we saw that in 1897), so perhaps she made this afghan.

Does anybody remember seeing it in a location other than the Old House?

I consider it crucially important right now to get my afghans straight.  Really, I do, I swear.  Of the various afghans in my head, I picture one of them as sort of brown and light green or brown and yellow, something fairly unappetizing.  Am I wrong?  The other is black with brightly and differently colored squares on it, in a grid.   Maybe that thing isn't an "afghan".  Some etymology please.  I guess I should Google "afghan".

I recall seeing it on the bed at the Inn where Josette and Jermiah were staying after they eloped.

Really?  I thought the one in the inn where Josette and Jeremiah stayed was the ubiquitous multicolored one.

Maybe it is the tent of the colors that I put on my computer. Maybe we should call them multi colored and two colored.

I saw this afghan today in episode 649, spread out on Chris's bed in his attic room at the Collinsport Inn.  I trust he'll put in a safe place before his next transformation.

We didn't get a close-up of the afghan, but it seemed to me that there was a red outline of a square in each of the knitted or crocheted squares.  It may be that when that red outline is seen in a different light, it looks brown.

It seemed quite appropriate for that afghan to be in that room, since the same set was used for Angelique's attic room, and she had the same afghan.

Yes, please elaborate.  There's an afghan that time travelled to Beth's room in 1897, and it sounds more like this one than the one from the Evans Cottage.

I was surprised to see this afghan in the Evans Cottage in episode 146, when Sam is resting on the sofa.  In later episodes we see only the primary afghan, a.k.a. the multicolored afghan, in the Evans Cottage.  The episode is in black and white, so I thought perhaps I was mistaken, but the squares seemed to be definitely the size of the gold afghan, and they seemed to be all the same.  If mscbryk decides to watch the Laura storyline, he might be so kind as to doublecheck this vital detail for me.

Around about episode 156 there's an afghan in Liz's bedroom, folded and placed over the back of a chair.  It looks like the gold afghan to me, but again I'm not entirely sure because the episode is in black and white.

There's an afghan that time travelled to Beth's room in 1897

I noticed that in episode 714.

Also, this afghan in Laura's cottage, a.k.a. the caretaker's cottage, in 1967.  This afghan pops up all over the place in the Laura storyline!

This afghan is in Rachel's room at the Worthington Hall replacement in episode 773.  When you start looking for this one, it's all over the place.  Sometime (after I retire) I'll count up the number of times it appears and the number of times the primary (black-bordered, multicolored) afghan appears, and compare.

It's in episode 776 on Judith's bed.

I noticed this afghan on Beth's bed in episode 803, which is odd, I have a note to myself (squirreled away for that great and glorious day when I or somebody else starts a Prop Project topic on the primary afghan) saying that in episode 765 the multicolored afghan, a.k.a. the black-bordered afghan, a.k.a. the primary afghan, was on Beth's bed.
