Nicholas: That's a lovely rose, Dr. Hoffman.  And how I envy you!  The last time I put a rose in my lapel, the strangest thing happened: __________!

Nicholas: That's a lovely rose, Dr. Hoffman.  And how I envy you!  The last time I put a rose in my lapel, the strangest thing happened: it withered and turned to ashes... freak atmospheric disturbance, perhaps?!
