In yesterday's episode when Adam wanted to hear some music at Collinwood, Carolyn gracefully put some on for him. Then all of a sudden, he gets mad because he doesn't happen to like that tune?[hdscrt]  Are we to believe that the only music he likes to hear is Dr.Lang's cassette tape by Mozart?  I could just picture Dr.Lang listening to Mozart while he was sewing Adam together. Maybe that's why he likes it so much.   :D

I think that Adam is just used to routine.  He wanted "music"--the only music he's ever known being Dr. Lang's Theme--and when they didn't give him what he wanted, he naturally threw a tantrum.  I think it's common to lots of kids who grow so accustomed to something happening one way and then have to deal with it happening another.

PLEASE!!!  ::)

There is no more regimented, routine-loving,
change-fearing creature on this planet than a human child.  >:(

Just try leaving out a word in a favorite bed time story.  :o

Just try cutting the sandwich into halves instead of quarters.   :'(

Just TRY singing a different bedtime song than the one you've sung the previous 2000 nights!!!! [scrm]

Throw a tantrum?.....they were lucky Adam didn't rip the cell down one brick at a time!! [vylnt]

Actually, Cassandra, I myself have a similar reaction every time I hear that particular bit of Mu-zak! I believe it's called the Theme from Man and Woman.

I don't think Adam really understands what the word music means.  I think, to him, it's what's on that tape and that includes the words.  He's particularly interested in listening to that part and trying to say the words.  I think he "almost" understands it.  He definitely seems to realize it's important.

The fact that he asks for "music" might be an attempt to communicate with them, to have them hear what is said.

LOL!! Rainey, You're right! Now that you mentioned it, kids do love doing things by routine. Gosh, my two daughters are 16 & 19 already and it's funny how fast you forget these things until someone else brings them up, especially the one about leaving out a word from a favorite bedtime story! Yeesh, I could never get out of that one.  Hey, I wonder if Adam ages or if he is suppose to stay the same age?
