From Robert Finocchio (Thanks, Nancy!):

... After a long, wonderful life, Diana Millay's mother, Claire S. Geng,  has passed away.  Having been her rock of gibraltar for her entire life, Diana is understandably feeling a bit lost.  If any of you are in touch with her (especially those of you who have met/known Claire) and would like to express your thoughts, I know that she would appreciate it.

If you could pass the word among the DS fans, their support would mean a great deal at this sad time.

My sympathies to Diana, Kiley and the rest of the family.  Sad- first KLS lost her mom a few months ago, and now this.

OMG!
I got to know Claire on Diana's DS trip to Egypt in 1987.
Such a sweet, elegant lady.

I'm going to give Diana a call tomorrow.

RIP Claire.

My sympathies go out to Diana and her family.  Many times at the Festival when discussing her early days in show business, Diana has mentioned how much she depended on her mother's support.  It was clear she had a great deal of affection and gratitude for her mom, and I can imagine how much she'll miss her. :(

Gosh! [shkdg] My elderly mother also died this year, and now I am noticing many other people around me whose elderly mothers have died, too. [cryg] My condolences go out to Diana and her family at this sad time. Just before Christmas, too. [cryb] I know what it's like to lose your mother. Part of me feels lost forever. [santa_cry] I'm sure you have lots of wonderful memories of her and she will never be forgotten.

I hope Diana is ok.  It's never easy to lose a parent.  My thoughts are with her and her family.
