Dan Curtis' Frankenstein is coming to DVD
« on: September 01, 2007, 11:02:14 PM »
The Dan Curtis directed "Frankenstein" is coming to DVD on Oct. 30th 2007. I;ve never seen this version of the movie. It was made in 1973 and stars Bo Sevnson,  Robert Foxworth, and Susan Strasberg. John Karlen plays Otto and provides an audio commentary with Robert Foxworth. It was made for TV and if I remember right stays fairly close to Shelley's original. I look forward to seeing it.
May you die before you want too.

Big thanks for the great news! Looks like it's being being released by Dark Sky Films, MPI's subsidiary.

It was released by MPI on VHS some years ago--don't remember when--and that's the last version I saw (I still have it!)...and I did see it back in the 1970s when it first aired in two parts on ABC's Wide World of Mystery.  I think it's a wonderful adaptation, and deals more with humanity than with horror.  Bo Swenson is great as the Monster!
