Oh, Say Can You Seance?
« on: May 16, 2002, 08:33:12 AM »
Admittedly not the best title in the world, but I don't believe that there has been a trivia question regarding the seances yet, so I will ask now: how many seances occurred on the show, what were the circumstances, and who was involved?

Lets see.......  Well there was the one of course that just sent Vicky back to the past to the year 1795. They were trying to contact Sarah's spirit, and instead Vicky got to meet her in person.[wink2]

There's also one I remember where Tony Peterson, Julia and Proffesor Stokes hold a seance in the old house basement to try and contact the spirit of Rev. Trask to come to their aid in dealing with Cassandra.[vryevl]

David & Amy hold their own little seance to try and contact the ghost of Quentin Collins to find out what he wants of them. [ghost]

The majority of them took place in DS present time ('67-'70) or 1970PT. I think there was one in 1840 to contact the spirit of Roxanne Drew. I guess somewhere around 10???

I don't know how many seances there were, but I remember one that took place at the Old House. Prof. Stokes and Barnabas Collins contact the spirit of Danielle Roget, can't get that accent mark in there, sorry! It goes above the letter "e."

One of the most impressive scenes Alexandra Moltke ever performed in was the seance to contact the ghost of Josette during the Laura story line. Moltke spoke in fluent French, and was obviously studied in the language in real life. I don't ever remember being as impressed with her performance as in that scene. She was really quite good.

Later, during the costume party at the Old House after Barnabas arrived, Josette spoke through Vicki yet again - only this time in English. The ghost must have been taking English classes on the side. ::)

In summer of 1970 - the story leading to the 1840 flashback -

David and Hallie are in the playroom and decide to have a seance.  David says, "I know how to do it; I've watched the grownups lots of times!"

In 1970PT, a seance is held to contact the spirit of the original Barnabas Collins.

Also in 1970PT, Maggie dreams of the seance during which Angelique was murdered, although her dream shows her the wrong murderer!

I have no idea how many seances were held on the show, but I'm thinking it's more than 10.  Going to tell us the correct answer, ProfStokes?

1967: The spirit of David Radcliffe speaks through David Colins.

1897: Quentin, Barnabas and Magda raise Julianka's spirit.  The bitter ghost then curses Magda.

Also, I seem to remember Pansy holding a seance with somebody. (Lady Kitty?)

1970PT: Didn't Sabrina try to re-enact Angelique's seance after her first meeting with Yaeger?

1995: Against his better judgment, Professor Stokes holds a seance with Barnabas and Julia to contact Carolyn.

How many is that now? 16? I really have no idea just how many seances there were, but I thought that it would make a neat question.

Im not really sure if you would call this a seance or not, When The Countess Natalie & Joshua hold some kind of ritual to ask for help in defeating Barnabas' curse. And of course, we all know who showed up. Bathia Mapes. :)
