A reminder... Online posting and messaging precludes readers from seeing facial expressions or hearing the writer's voice, which in the absence of certain emoticons might be the only clues as to whether the person is joking is not.

But of course we know that once someone begins a topic, its author doesn't get to dictate who or how (assuming it's within the board guidelines) they can respond to it.

Midnite,
I  would think by now it is a given that I am joking or teasing...I will  certainly stop if it is a problem for the posters.
It is a good day because I am still ticking!

Least favorite:

Hallie (at any point) [goofy] (unless of course she would suddenly become mute)

That's my point-- please don't assume it's a given.  And in this situation, I have only to read my messages to know it wasn't clear to everyone that you were kidding.  But if you mean stop joking or teasing, no way.  A smiley-- ;), ;D, J/K (just kidding, not John Karlen, hee hee), or even an LOL helps.

Julia99's question and Minja's answer concerning favorite pills or dolls (as Nealy [crazd] in VOD would say LOL) of the 60's reminded me of an old movie circa mid-60's (can't remember the title) where someone is having a fit of some kind in a department store and a big crowd forms around whoever it was.  Before long someone yells does anyone have any Valium at which time everyone in the crowd whips out a bottle and thrusts it at the person who asked.

And I also remember once that one of my aunts loved to like to brag that she "never had to take a nerve pill in her life" as my mother (her sister) muttered under her breath...maybe not, but she's sure caused a few other people to take them!  ::)

Joanna Mills (Daphne's sister) was a guest in 1840.

Actually, Joanna did not stay at Collinwood - Samantha wouldn't hear of it.

Personally, I wouldn't mind Angelique/Cassandra staying over at my place for a few days. In exchange for room and board I'd ask her to perform a few incantations directed at my local bank and the IRS.
;D
