Is is just me, or does anyone else think  that "Cassandra" (and we all know who she really is) with that wig looks like Sarina, Samantha Stevens' identical cousin?  Well, when Clarice Blackburn tosses her wig and exposes her natural red hair, she can be passed off as Endora, at least from a distance.

I think she does too Gerard but i'm wondering if it
because the black wigs didn't look right on either women
i have olive skin and black hair and would pretty funny in a blonde wig and i think both of them are fair and dark hair doesn't suit them!

Gerard,

IMNSHO, there's definitely a Sixties Serena/Cassandra groove thang going on, although I'm quite sure that Serena wouldn't be caught DEAD in that ghastly cape-coat dear Cassandra wore for her very first appearance at Collinwood.

Also, do you notice how HEAVILY greased and shellacked Cassandra's wig is on her first day?  She must have been creating an ozone hole right over Collinsport as Roger drove up the coast (let's pray he had the top down on his Chevy convertible) and Cass was spraying away, seemingly for hours, to make that damned hair lay down and fluff up.

My dear friend Nicky wrote a HILARIOUS story about Angelique first appearing in a very "square" blonde persona in a NYC discotheque and getting some help with her look from "Cousin Serena" before proceeding to Rockport and that ill-fated semiinar with Prof. Stokes.

I'm looking forward to more comments on this topic.  Love your idea of Clarice playing Endora (I bet that Agnes would have mown her down with an Uzi if she'd gone NEAR the part, though)!  I'm too attached to Marion Lorne's wonderful portrayal as Aunt Clara to consider any other actress in the part, even the divine Anita Bolster.

If I'm not mistaken, BEWITCHED and DARK SHADOWS shared several of the same years together on TV, and both were featured on the same network, too.

Considering how much Dan Curtis enjoyed "borrowing" from other sources, I'd say that the Angelique/Cassandra- Samantha/Serena plot was more than just coincidence.

Of course, Serena dressed in far groovier duds, but then again, she wasn't stuck with Ohrbach's cast-offs, either!

I just read that DS and THAT GIRL were both on TV from 1966-1971.  I loved both shows, although they were very different, and never realized that little fact.

Love, Robin

Oh, my goodness, Robin, I've completely forgotten that DS and TG (That Girl) were on at exactly the same time!  I can still hum that opening number, picturing Marlo running through NYC with that bouncy, banged hair.  Of course, even back then, no one trying to be an actress/actor in NY could afford to live in a big, Manhattan apartment like Ann Marie.

This is off topic, but another coincidence between "That Girl" and "Dark Shadows" is that the same company syndicates both shows.

Cassandra's wig scared me...I think something died on her head or something...it also reminds me of that girl from "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" with the Australian accent.

How about Camilla Ashland as Esmerelda!  Though I love Alice Ghostley in that role.  Thayer David as Dr. Bombay would be fun!

We'll get to the Brady Bunch when Kathy Cody comes on board. She's been likened to Jan, so we'll have her whining Marcia, Marcia, Marcia, before it's all said and done!!![vryevl]
