Oh I'm sure Madge was one of the commercials shown but geeze you're talking almost 40 years ago. I am hardly gonna remember the commercials from way back then.

I don't remember exactly which commercials aired during the show, but I generally remember the types that were common back then.  Things like Redball Jets tennis shoes (run a little fast, jump a little higher, with Redball Jets!) Malto Meal (I want my Malto Meal!) Spyro-Graph  (circle in a circle, ring within a ring, with Spyro-Graph you can do your own thing!), and don't forget all those once-permitted cigarette ads (Winston tastes good like a [clap-clap] cigarette should!).  All in glorious black-and-white, of course (only "fancy people," as my dad would call 'em, owned color sets).

I seem to recall lots of shampoo, soap, mouth wash, and toothpaste commercials.  We were a nation of germ-phobics.

Today, however, it would be K-Y and condoms.  Don't believe me?....watch G/H some afternoon..... ::)

In all my years I have never met anyone who remembers that commercial (Maybe it was a radio spot?) I heard the song a few times as a kid and it never left my mind. (Obviously it never left the shelves either, lol, since no one ever knows what the hell I am talking about when I sing it.)

Think again. You can buy them on eBay (along with everything else). Click the link below for an image. I especially love the warning about the garment becoming "dangerously flammable" (as opposed to safely flammable I guess).

Now I'm dying to buy a pair so I can wash them and test this whole flammability warning. I can envision a whole YouTube Mythbusters parody with these things, and dom could sing the jingle.  ;D

Well, some of the types come to mind from back then; Dippity Do, Rock-em Sock-em Robots, Spaghetti-O's, Captain Crunch, Alka-Seltzer, Roller Derby Street King Sidewalk Shoe Skates, Tab, Barbies, Hasbro toys/games, various brands of cigarettes, and, of course dish, laundry, and bath soaps.

Like most kids of the day, I enjoyed the parody songs based on familiar commercials back then.  Who can forget...

I'm sure everyone is waiting for me to mention, once again, the bra commercial Grayson did in '70 which had her walking around with a clipboard testing various brassieres with that scientific touch for today's woman.

Since it aired a number of times during DS and the master tapes do have the commercials on them, I still don't understand why MPI hasn't give us this as an extra.  It would mean a lot to Grayson's fans.

According to RJ Jamison's fabulous book about her, the notoriously flat-chested Grayson had a merry time ringing up all her buddies crowing to them about getting "A BRA COMMERCIAL!"  I can just imagine her doing this, too...
