PLAYING THE PART

If you could audition for one of the characters on DS, which role would it be and why?
It is a good day because I am still ticking!

The 12-year old who still resides somewhere deep in my mind (okay maybe NOT so deep) still says I would like to play Maggie/Josette.  But now that I'm older I see the wisdom in the remark Frid made to Lara Parker about her villainous character having more substance and possibilities than the ingenue roles.  Everybody may like Maggie but it's Angelique they love to hate, fear, and wonder what she'll be up to next.  I'm not sure I'd be good in that role though.  I think I may be more suited to play Crazy Jenny! Victoria Winters--I always liked that character with all the mystery surrounding her.  Eventually the Maggie and Vicky characters became too much alike.  Maggie lost the hard-edged waitress personality and became an ingenue like Vicky.  Maybe this is why Vicky became a somewhat uninteresting character to some--always saying "I don't understand".  Maybe the writers couldn't keep both characters interesting.  Too bad--she was my favorite over Maggie.

For me it would be Angelique! I am facinated by the occult, so this would be great role to play. Her character adds so much exitement to the show. I find that more people remember the "villian" much more than they remember the good guys. She is far from boring, and anytime you see her character on the show, you just know something exiting is bound to happen. I think I would have a ball playing this part. Another good thing is that you can't get rid of her. It didn't matter how many times she "died"  she'd always find a way to come back again!  Good topic Vam! :)

I would have to say Josette/Maggie.  I can't get over the little girl who would have loved to look like her.  Not to mention to age like her.

Jealous and not afraid to say it!

Of course I love Julia dearly, but don't think I'd want to play that part.

As a child, I was always dressing up as a gypsy, so I think I'd like to try to play Magda. Since I look like my northern European ancestors I would need even more make-up than Grayson did to look the part, but I'd love the wig and the clothes. I think I could even fake an accent.

I think I would want to play the role of Nicholas Blair. He had all that power - what can I say? Plus he spent a lot of time with Angelique and was one of the very few people to gain the upper hand with her (although temporarily). Along those same lines, my second choice would be Gerard Stiles.

Well, sticking to my own gender seems reasonable. But, the females are not usually an interesting bunch. I would love to be Julia, and after that Samantha Collins. Both are complex enough to be intriguing and not helpless victims.

Well, part of me would go for Josette (I did choose that name, afterall!), but I think I'd mostly go for Julia.  She was an intelligent woman, a doctor, got to spend tons of time with Barnabas, and once their relationship improves they do spend most of their time together, care for each other (even if he doesn't care the way she wants), and end up having all sorts of adventures together.

My first instinct shouts,
"Dddddddaaappphnnnneeeeeeee!!" ... buuut I think I'd rather be Carolyn  :o ... because I know all her chars go crazy...and I think that'd be *challenging* and fuuuun to play!! I think NB is suuch a wonderful actress anyway! Of course, I'm not blonde [*thanx lucky stars* lol] sooooo..... I think I'd be Vicki....she *is* the main char, after all.....altho Maggie is so much more interesting.......LOL
