My Sesquimillennial, or Something
« on: January 04, 2007, 02:49:02 AM »
With this post I hit 1500.     And that Einstein thought he accomplished something.

What's with all the birthdays?    Some of these might just be prank birthdays, or hysterical sympathy birthdays, like when people get pregnancy symptoms along with their wives or loved ones.    Either that, or everyone's parents sure as hell got "frisky" the moment Spring hit.

Thrity years ago i used to run the Sunshine Club in a former place of employment.  I still have the ledger with everyone's birthdays--- about 50 members--- and I noticed most of the birthdays seemed clustered in August and September, with a few early birds in July and stragglers in October.  Perhaps it was just a coincidence and a statistical blip, but my theory was that the previous autumns and winters must have been mighty cold, if you catch my (snow) drift.  And as you might imagine, the fewest birthdays were  in March, April, and May, 9 months after the previous summers.  Apparently reflecting the  weather extremes in New England, anyway.
For the record, my b'day is in early summer, but I prefer not to reveal the date here.

Congratulations on 1500!

Technically I should have been born in late February/early March but apparently I wanted to suprise my parents on their Christmas vacation. It was the only time in my life I was ever early, I tell everyone I'm making up for it now.

Hey arashi,

Got a question about your avator.  It appears to be early Barnabas, like when he was first introduced, pre-1795, but then he looks like he's wearing period costuming.  When was the picture?  Pre-1795, or later?  ;)

Magnus, congrats on 1500, you'll be a GOD in no time!  ;)

Thanks arashi, Buzz!    I'm a demi-god, already, right?

Hi Buzz! Actually it's a screencap from 1897. It's from the episode where
Barnabas goes up into the Tower room to investigae on behalf of Rachel.... and meets Angelique.
I've been going a bit nuts making icons lately. It's too much fun! All my latest ones are here: http://www.hollowmoon.net/sites/selfstandard/icons/dark/index2.html

My favorites, arashi, are the resume, Roger's tragic sobriety, and B and A on the floor.     Also, the photos chosen are really striking.     And you didn't forget to bring the funny.

Thanks jennifer!

As for gestation periods, I was born in early summer, but frankly, I'm amazed I managed to come into being at all.    Am I being too free with the family detail?

Just for the record, I consider my previous post here to have been lame or obnoxious or something, just a bit.   It's stupid, but these things bother me.   Funny, long ago I didn't care what people thought.

My mother once mentioned that she and my father were "rather baffled" when they learned I was on the way.  This despite the fact that I was their fourth child.

Congratulations, Magnus.
