Current Talk '08 I / Re: Virtual Collinwood: DS as a Video Game

If it was on a handheld system would we be playing DS on a DS? :)

But  if they plan to make a game , wouldn't it be aimed towards the movie and not the TV series.  It would be cool to have a game where the original actors return, but how would you put a science-fiction soap opera into a game form and keep the beauty of it?

Current Talk '08 I / DVD date
« on: May 25, 2008, 07:42:52 AM »
I'm checking Amazon and it looks like Dark Shadows: The Beginning, Vol. 5's release date is on Jul 29.  So two questions.

1. Vol. 6 the going to have the last of the episodes leading up to volume  1 of the first DVD release with Barnabas?

2. Do you know or care to guess when the release date is?

Want I want to do is put the entire series on my Netflixs account and watch them in order. :)

Thanks alot.

Current Talk '07 II / First tapes

Well it's official, give or take a few more movies, but Dark Shadows and I mean the entire thing has just been bumped up on my Netfliks account.  So yeah I can't wait.  However, what I won't tolerate again, is the delay in the DVD sets for the first arcs.  Look, would it be wrong to hunt down the series via tape?  I think I've asked this before, but once again, I'd like to at least to try to see it in order.  And it's not that I won't be supporting DS, I will, by watching it.  But I don't want to wait a year or so until it comes out and I'm sure a few of you did the sasme thing back in the day.  So once again,

1. Does anyone have the release date.

2. Would anyone have copies of the arcs before Barnabas Collins?

Okay keeping on DS topics, wow, Johnny Depp.  never knew he was a fan.  But do you think they be able to portray him as Barnabas?

Well it does actually.  I think...

As of this point in time MPI is only releasing DSTB DVD sets to their DSDVD Club members. They are not available to the general public, and probably won't be for about a year--that's speculation among many 'round these parts anyway. If someone has some concrete stuff to say, I haven't heard it or I forgot about it.

So we have to wait until 2008 unless we sign up?  How much do they charge to join, or is it even worth signing up?  It's just that it's one of those buy five get the sixth free clubs which is seen in the Sunday papers and I'm a bit skeptical.  A friend of mine did that and I think they got in trouble.

As for how they'll be released, it probably won't be in ony huge set that has all the episodes. They'll do it like they are now, releasing 6 sets of about 40 episodes each (I'm not sure how many episodes will be on the last set), just like the releases with the DS episodes that have Barnabas in them.

That's what I was hoping as well.  :)

Thanks for responding.

Current Talk '07 I / Dark Shadows the Begining

Hey everyone, it's been a while.  Sooo, I'm watching someone's house and hopefully will get through the first of many Dallas sets, but I went over to Best Buy and asked if Dark Shadows the Begining had been release or if there was a release date ready.  She (the clerk said no) and so it slipped my mind but now it's time to lean on you guys again.  Do you guys know when is DSTB finally being released (somewhere in 07' I hope) and is it going to be one giant set with all the first missing epsidoes or will they split them into different sets and how many?  Thanks alot.

Also if Barnabas falls down in the woods and no one is around to hear it- does he make a sound?

make no mistake...it's a soap opera.gothic to be sure but not overtly supernatural until the laura collins storyline begins in late 1966.that storyline alone makes this period unmissable.

You mean the Phoenix right?  That's one of the reasons why I want to see the pre-Barnabas.  And speaking of...

Did Passions take pages from DS?  I read that right now there's a mermaid running around and it just appears to have the same tone as DS.  Tell me this isn't a coincidence.

I don't want to point out the obvious, but

Highlight-Ctl C- Ctl V

Sorry but it looks like unless you block all forms of copying then you'll still have this problem and if people can do that then they will get scared off to another DS forum.

OK so I bought the first DVD set because I heard alot about this show and I'm obsessed with soaps.  yada yada yada.  And then I find out that I bought the first episodes 210-250!  Now this pisses me off to no ends because I want to watch the whole thing from the begining.  Why did they do this!?  They are ruining a young soap opera fans hopes and dreams!!!  OK maybe not.  :)  So here's the question.  The first set of the begining of the 209 are going to be released soon, BUT, it's going to be in *gasp* the begining of 2007.  I can't wait that long.  So I need some advice.  I was wondering if someone might have them on tape they might be willing to send ove or transfer to DVD maybe so I could watch them in order.  Of course we could haggle a price of course.  Or should I just wait until 2007.  OR should I start watching DS now and then backtrack when the new stuff comes out in 2007.  I really want to see them NOW, you can understand that, so if there is a way that is possible I would really appreciate it.  I might add I would buy the sets when they are released.  Otherwise how do I handle it?

Also how many DVD sets are there right now.  Someone mentioned that 26 only had 19 eps so does that mean that's where the series end?

Thanks alot for putting up with these questions, I did watch the first episode and I can't wait to watch the rest.  :)
