the presence of, yet, another ubiquitous grey suit in Collinsport.  I do hope that Brewster's Department Store has Adam's suit size in its he-man section of the men's clothing department. [santa_huh]

I think that Dr. Hoffman would have used a more clinical term, such as "micturate," for a common, everyday bodily function. [santa_rolleyes] [santa_wink]

The cover says by Barbara Eden *with* Wendy Leigh--and if you really read the book, it does sound like Wendy interviewed Barbara and asked her a lot of questions about her life and career, and then put all the quotes into a cohesive text.

Ronny G,

Wendy Leigh must be quite prolific in assisting celebrities with their autobiographies.  I just finished reading the great Shirley Jones' autobiography, entitled "Shirley Jones: My Memoir," and Ms. Leigh also assisted Ms. Jones in the writing of her autobiography.

In the book, Ms. Jones writes of her childhood in a small town in Pennsylvania, her big break on Broadway, and her long and successful career in both film and television.  Of course, Ms. Jones writes extensively about her "event-filled" marriage to the late, lamented Jack Cassidy.

Let me tell you, in looking at the photographs of  Ms. Jones and Mr. Cassidy, I must say that Mr. Cassidy, with his trademark smile and neatly trimmed moustache, bore an uncanny resemblance to "Dark Shadows'" own Nicholas Blair! [santa_azn] [santa_thumb] [santa_evil]

The book is a great read for any DS fans who are also fans of Ms. Jones' work on stage, screen and as Danny Bonaduce's extremely patient and lovely mom on "The Partridge Family."

Angelique was absolutely nonplussed when her dentist informed her:

he bought his stylish trademark grey suit off of the rack at Brewster's Department Store.

711
it invariably meant that Nicholas' peace and tranquility by the seaside would be soon interrupted by someone knocking on the front door and offering him some unsolicited words of inspiration and a free copy of "The Watch Tower."

One of my favorite threads here was when the always insightful Gerard posted a thread on disasters that Barnabas and Dr. Hoffman might have prevented during their brief sojourn from PT 1970 to the year 1995.

I think that Gerard suggested Mr. B. and Dr. H. might have spared us all from such unpopular things as HMOs and the singing career, albeit brief as it actually was, of Roger Clinton.  (I believe I suggested the futile hope that Barnabas and Dr. Hoffman might have also prevented the dawn of disco music, shortly after "Dark Shadows" left the air in 1971.  Thank God that we never got to hear KC and the Sunshine Band, intoning "Disco Dark Shadows" on "The Midnight Special" with hosts Helen Reddy and "Wolfman" Jack!!!)   [hall2_rolleyes]

As to the recent sweeping congressional legislation, maybe the good Dr. Hoffman caught a glimpse of the somewhat voluminous bill when she and Barnabas were treading cautiously down (or up) Quentin I's Stairway-Through-Time?  [hall2_shocked] [hall2_wink]

I thought that everyone was aware of the fact that the "slightly" oleaginous Nicholas Blair was doing his very best to bird dog good guy Joe Haskell with the fair Maggie.

navy blue, double-breasted, pinstripe suit, which, unfortunately, I will not be able to wear until Jeb Hawkes and Megan Todd attempt to get to know one another in the "Biblical sense," long after you've departed from Collinsport for good (I think?).

715
that you might possibly hail from Long Branch, New Jersey?

716
my late father's bar tab at the Blue Whale.

As gently and tactfully as possible, Nicholas said to Maggie:

Do you really want to marry a grown man, who still wears cpo shirts much like Jerry Mathers and Tony Dow wore as kids on "Leave It to Beaver"?

718
due to the guidelines of the Affordable Care Act, Julia could no longer function as Barnabas' primary care physician.  Therefore, Julia suggested that either Dr. Eric Lang or Dr. Ruth Westheimer might function as Barnabas' new pcp under the newly enacted (and I daresay, extremely popular) law. [hall2_shocked] [hall2_rolleyes]

Maggie, Eve, and HIMSELF !!! [hall2_kiss] [hall2_kiss] [hall2_kiss]

I think that the late, lamented Mr. Patrick was almost  as prolific as both KLS and John Karlen when it came to guest appearances on American television programs.

I can recall seeing Mr. Patrick's unmistakeably smiling and handsome Irish face on such shows as "Bonanza," "The Incredible Hulk," and "The Fugitive" (where, unfortunately, Mr. Patrick's character was swept overboard during a fierce storm, much like Joe Haskell's father apparently was, while out on one the Collins Family fishing boats off the coast of Maine).
