I would LOVE to meet John Zacherley!!!  I remember his show from the early years....(which tells you more about how old I am than you need to know...[lghy]) and how my brother and cousins and I would con our folks into letting us stay up and watch him.  ;D

Doesn't a review like that make you want to beat someone senseless for failing to get the show on the air?   [90d1]

...Curtis hates the pilot though, so you won't see him championing its release...

Curtis hates the pilot?  Damn!  Now I AM sorry I didn't get to see it. [lghy]

it could have been cool if they set a storyline on d.s. in the roaring twenties too.

What an inspired idea!!  Bootleggers from Canada dropping off hootch at the Collinwood Speakeasy!
Roger and Quentin playing host to the local gentry, and the ladies in flapper attire.
I have no idea what storyline would work......but the visuals would have been stunning!!  [lghy]

and what's up with my girl???will alexandra finally grace us with her presence?why is she so stand-off-ish with the whole thing? ::)

Perhaps she avoids the Fests for the same reason she went" behind the camera" rather than remain an actress: perhaps she really has no use for fame.

Gee....isn't it a shame that people who were hoping for the '91 series to be released on DVD ran out and bought (about-to-become-obsolete) VHS copies, because word went out that the series wouldn't BE released on DVD.  But now, lo and behold!...here it comes on DVD.

Sombody tell me you don't believe this was a carefully arranged scenario from the start, please.  I have a bridge, in Johnny Karlen's old neighborhood, for sale.

It's been a year, so I don't recall......was there EVER any direct comment from Dan Curtis on the 2004 pilot, or on the WB's  decision not to put it on their schedule?

I suspect we're so attatched to these performers and their characters because they came into our lives when we were young (most of us) and impressionable.  That, along with the fact that we saw them 5 times a week, made for a lot of memories!  :D
