I imagine Roger could be quite charming when he wanted to be. Stokes could be counted on to keep interesting conversation going. I bet Carl would be a riot at any party. 8)

Current Talk '05 II / THE DICKENS WITH DARK SHADOWS
« on: July 15, 2005, 08:14:44 PM »
There has been some comment that "Jane Eyre" influenced DS storylines. Today's photo (7-15-05) on the Forum's homepage  made me wonder if "Agnes Grey" by Anne Bronte influenced the early episodes. It's the story of a young woman who wants to go out in the world and earn a living for herself as well as help her poor family. She takes a position with a rich family as governess, only to find the children are horribly behaved and almost impossible to teach. >:D This reminded me of Vicky's relationship with David. I wonder if the writers were influenced by "Agnes Grey" as well as "Jane Eyre". [book2]

He will always be Sheriff  Patterson to me. R.I.P. :'(

Also, I forgot to add, the episode will be repeated at 2:10 AM tonight (the morning of June 8th). 8)

Today (June 7th) Roger Davis guest-stars on "Alias Smith and Jones" on the Encore/Western channel at 5:00 EST. I don't think there are alot of RD fans here but this is really a good episode of AS&J and Roger is excellent in the role of a villain. 8)

Current Talk '05 I / Re: dark dream house
« on: April 12, 2005, 04:03:00 AM »
An actual set for my house would be the Collinwood basement with all its' cobwebs, boxes of old books, and other junk to explore. Another set would be Josette's room.

But the real inspiration for my dark shadows dream house would not be a real set but the Old House as it was as described by Barnabas to Vicky. He described the plaster walls as made from crushed clam shells, the chandelier brought from France, wallpaper designed by a Belgian artist, the parquet floor installed by an Italian craftsman, the cornices and moldings by a Spanish craftsman. It must have been very grand.

When I think of Orhbachs I think of:

Sleeveless A-line dresses which had a simple elegance that could be very flattering ( if you could wear sleeveless). [bow]
Basic sixties styles--miniskirts, taylored suits with pearls, fashions you would see Jacqueline Kennedy wear.

I would to watch the episode in the Laura storyline where Laura tries to take David into the flames with her. [angryf] If I could wander around I would want to explore the basement in Collinwood. [Ghost00] I would ask Alexandra Moltke how she approached the character of Vicky and what did she want for her in terms of storylines. [flower][/size][/font]

I liked the early part of 1897 with all the family intrigue.[Bat]
The most interesting character is Quentin. [egypt] I would have liked to have known more about his time in Egypt. Also, the gypsies in the Old House were interesting characters.
The most funny character is Carl. [joker]
