LOL and hooray!  I am so glad this was an instance where the IMdb was WRONG!  :D  :D  :D

Cheers,

Linda

That is pretty funny that they were wrong Linda
and that it was in his favor!
He was great as Harvey and to tell you the truth the only reason I watched the show! I always found Mary Beth annoying but Harvey was really funny with her! he seems like quite a guy as well an an actor. :)

Quess we can't always count on the Imdb LOL!

From the way David reacted to some of his father's threats in the early episodes, my guess is that he was no stranger to corporal punishment.  Probably was a bit too familiar with it.

Luciaphil

I also get the feeling that would have been Roger's way of dealing with it!

Time out may work for some kids but most of the time I think David was screaming for a good old fashioned kick in the pants.  He was a thick little bugger! [frkoff]

I totally agree CastleBee he was awful at the the beginning !

Willie's at the Old House......All's right with the world!

Yep, have to agree with TLATKLS' opinion that John Karlen was the best actor in the bunch......not that I'm prejudiced or anything.....! ;)

We've had this conversation before, about Nancy Barrett's excellent portrayal of "crazy" as Millicent.....but John Karlen's "crazy" is SO excellent you have to wonder how he does it!!  :o

Willie's shifts from docile and timid,  to demented and overwrought, back to cringing and sly at the same time...all in a handful of scenes....are a superb showcase of the actor's talents, and abilities (IMHO).  It also serves as a showing-UP, I'm afraid, of how narrow and single-note portrayals like Lang really are.

Best of all is just imagining how much FUN John Karlen MUST have had playing this lunatic who keeps shifting gears from pathetic and sweet to barking mad! [crazd]

GAWD...I'VE MISSED HIM!!!!!

Rainey, who's just wondering: Did anyone else who acted on this show ever win an Emmy, a Tony or an Academy Award?......Scholars?....I'm sure one of you has this info!

I''m pretty sure John Karlen won or was at least nominated for an Emmy for playing Harvey, the long suffering husband of Marybeth's ,on Cagney and Lacey
He is great and was always my favorite part of that show!!!

I always found this hard to believe too Bob
it wasn't that long ago that he was accused
of stalking, kidnapping and terrorizing maggie
but then again he never had a hearing or trial just carted away to Wyndcliff on Julia's say!
Must be small town rules LOL

Were to begin at Collinwood
the list is endless
on the nonliar side would also say Vicki or Maggie Evans
they were usually lied too.
Barnabas is probably the biggest liar just because of what he had to hide from the family and how he had to live.
Julia helped add to these lies but she did pretty good on her own!

Kinda reminds me of John Belushi in Sat Night live The
Guest who wouldn't leave!
luckily Collinwood was big enough to hide in your own wing!
But have to say Willie because he was so eager to please and I hate housework!

liberal arts!
but i think it is History like Linda!
sometimes i wonder did the writers have some sixth sense about the future and know this show would be
talked about years later so they left a lot of unanswered
questions that we are still debating about years later!
Kinda of like The Jennings brothers some think they were twins , others not, but it is never stated one way or another in the plot!
Makes for a lot of fun debate !
