Many thanks, MB. What a great song. And it does seem to fit Julia at the end of PT 1970, as she looks longingly at an oblivious Barnabas.

Probably won't be online tomorrow, so let me take this occasion to wish you a wonderful birthday, Jean-Claude.  Hope it's a fabulous day.

At the end of PT 1970, Barn is upset because he has lost his precious Roxanne, and Julia tells him how one learns to live without love if one has to. The look in her eyes when she says this. . .  [bawling2]

"This image is copyrighted.  We ask that you not copy it."  (or something to that effect)

Left click it, Connie.  Right clicking an image brings up that error.

But I get that same message whether I right click, or left click.  "I don't understand."  :P

Liz:  No, I'm not handing over the candlesticks, and if you hadn't hocked my chandelier earrings in the first place these wouldn't be hanging from my earlobes!

Shame on you, Miidnite, making me laugh out loud on the Reference Desk!    [lol3]

Thanks for the heads up, Bette!  :D

You're welcome, Midnite.  :D  And to put the distance another way--it is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the theatre, or one subway stop. Metrorail stops right by the Hollywoood Renaissance Hotel and right across the street from the Pantages.

I have found a website which talks about this album, even shows the two covers, orange and gray. According to the site, which I believe belongs to Doombuggy, who was a member here, the uncredited voice is the voice of a woman named Laura Olsher.
Go to:

www.doombuggies.com/media_audio.htm    Scroll down to the Thrilling, chilling, etc.  The audio clip included on the website is definitely the voice on MY copy of the record.

Thanks for clearing that up, Darren. I have the politically correct version and I thought I was going crazy because I do NOT hear Grayson at all. Now I know why, so I'll have to look for the "other" one.  :)

I'm quite familiar with Grayson's speaking voice, having heard it multiple times on DS and in NOTI, not to mention Gargoyles, etc. If you have the Disney record, give it a lesson. I'm positive you'll know that isn't Grayson, and her involvement in the project is nothing more than an urban legend.

Rod, I'm so glad to to see your post, because, I have to agree with you about the voice. I got a copy on eBay and the voice on the record does not sound anything like Grayson, even though the year is right. Everybody keeps telling me it IS her, but I just can't hear it.  I have been wondering if there is maybe more than one version out there. Maybe Disney actually produced more than one record, with different narrators.

According to http://www.dvdjournal.com, Buena Vista Home Video will be releasing the original version of THAT DARN CAT! on DVD, along with other selections from the Disney back catalog, on May 3rd.  TDC!  features our Divine One as a kidnap victim.  Fire up the DVD Capture, kids!

Oh, Jean-Claude, I love you.  :-*   [cheerleader]

Been waiting for That Darn Cat to be released on DVD. Now, if we could just get Night of the Iguana on DVD. . . [confused_ani]

Nicholas Blair thinks back to a simpler time, when all he ever wanted to be was a conductor.

Nicholas:  OK everybody, remember the "think" system.  Seventy-six trombones lead the big parade!
