Current Talk '02 II / Re: Angelique's Resurrection Appearance

Given the elaborate story she spun for Joe about being held prisoner by Nicholas, it appears that our mortal/witch/mortal/vampire gal gets a kick out of play-acting with a number of different scenarios -- religious enthusiast, Victoria's savior, damsel in distress ... I wonder what other roles she has up her sleeve!

That scene reminds me of the Christopher Lee film Horror of Dracula:  one of Dracula's brides pulls the same shtick on Harker(?), but the Count intervenes at the last second before he becomes a neck sandwich for her.  It was a good week for rip-offs!

It IS funny her wiping her mouth after each smooch! Has anyone else noticed how much he is touching HER hair now?

OK, you've got me on the lookout for her wiping off her hair now!

Gothick who's wondering why on Earth the mortician buried Tom in his ... hospital pajamas???

Maybe he's thinking:  All I need is to find a robe, then I can become the Hugh Hefner of vampires!  Yeah, that's the ticket...

Yes, Josette, I always liked this blooper! I have a hobby of trying to rationally explain such bloopers. It could be that the footsteps were of one of the many intruders in the Old House (David, Adam, Stokes, Nicholas, etc) who walked around upstairs and left, thinking no one was at home. Or, perhaps it was the ghost of Rev. Trask, tapping on the bricks. Or, perhaps Tom was sadistically tapping on something, just to put a scare into her before he attacked.   ?!?

My favorite excuse is that vampires can move faster than sound, so he was already hiding by the time his footsteps could be heard!  :D

As for Julia, is she reacting any differently than Maggie when Barnabas first put the bite on her?  Even the newbie vampires seem to have incredible powers of hypnosis over their victims.

"Just one bite...that's all it took, yeah, just one bite..."

Current Talk '02 II / Re: Dan Curtis on another DS film:

Excerpt from article:

Is he gratified that the show has proved to have such staying power? "Let's say I'm very amused," he said with a gracious laugh.

That's Dan for ya.  ::)

How many secrets were kept at Collinwood and can you list them? We all know the BIG one.

Would I be correct offering that the "the BIG one" is how viewers mistook JF's staring into space trying to remember his lines as feelings of guilt, remorse, and suffering by Barnabas regarding his being a vampire?

While Barnabas and Angelique both have finely carved caskets, old Tom has a casket (which, you will soon see) that looks as if he picked it up on sale at the local Home Depot.

Thanks, Bob! I was wondering where I could pick up a basic coffin for cheap. No way I'm paying those funeral parlor prices for one!  ;)

PS - The forum spell-check reads that "acted" is not in the dictionary? Am I insane or just an idiot?

Obviously, you must have meant "She even ached as Viki might have..." and the spell checker was smart enough to point that out to you. 8) ;)

On a related note:  what does it mean to have the "Dark Shadows Forums Supporter" designation? ?!?

Quoteth Dan Curtis:

LOL well, you have to say, he's a dedicated, loyal fan. Do you think he actually watches the series, or just adores it cuz it's "his"?

Daphne, I believe neither.  I feel his "last words" were those of irony: he won't be remembered for his award-winning mini-series, just a clunky soap opera about ghosts, witches, and vampires he did at the beginning of his career.  :(

Current Talk '02 II / Re: CLONNING VS EXPERIMENT
« on: July 16, 2002, 07:47:05 AM »
DS was just too early for cloning.  I wonder how DS would have fared if it had resorted to sci-fi?  When they ran out of ideas in the supernatural realm, they should have explored the space-alien craze of the 60's -- they could have renamed the show:  Dark Shadows: The Final Frontier! (stealing from Trek, of course) ;)
