Title: DVD Volume 26
Post by: BuzzH on June 05, 2006, 09:25:32 PM
Just ordered this via Amazon.com.  Funny thing is, it's only 19 episodes yet they are charging full price ($41.99) for it.  Bestbuy.com has it at full price too ($69.99).  Wonder why that is.

Because it's still 4 discs worth of material. They're loading it down with featurettes about the series, Lara's new novel, etc.

Yeah, I just saw that in my CyberGram update.  Well, I don't mind paying $42 if they're adding everything they say they're adding.  ;)

I'd buy it if Grayson's Playtex commercial were included among the extras. But of course, it won't be.

Just let you all know how demented I REALLY am where the Divine One is concerned...

I've gotten behind on my dvd buying. I haven't gotten collection 23 or 24 yet. This is one of the only times I've fallen behind on them with the exception of when I moved....I think it's just because I'm not really interested in the 1840 storyline or 1841PT (especially since that was how the show ended).

If I pick up collection 26, it will because of the extras more so than the episodes.

Ah, you don't know what you're missing!  ;)  1841 is a great plotline.   ;)

Very, VERY interesting about the inclusion of DS 25th Anniversary because supposedly that had been pulled never to see the light of day again because of a dispute with Frid over including footage of his rendition of The Tell-Tale Heart. But if it is indeed going to be included, that will be great because I'd love a DVD quality copy of that compilation.

This collection, along with the "Dark Shadows - Special Edition" DVD, should now cover all of the MPI VHS tributes and compilations that have previously been released.  I think that the "Dark Shadows Tribute" is the "Dark Shadows 30th Anniversary Tribute."  If so, I recently spent hours creating a DVD (complete with disc and case artwork from the VHS box) of this tape, so that I could get rid of the last of my VHS tapes.  Well, at least this version should have better video quality.  And it's nice to have less DVD's to have to deal with.

Yes, should be interesting to see if it IS included in the DVD.  After all, what they MIGHT do is just release the rest of the footage with that excised.  Since they don't specify one way or another, we'd have to wait and see.

It is my recollection that ShadowGram has reported that bloopers will be contained on the special Dark Shadows DVD that is scheduled for release in November.

Apologies, I've been out of touch on here for a while.  Thanks for the info!  Where might I find more info on the the Special DVD slated for November?

...Exciting News of a Bloopers & Treasures CD (http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=5962) on TVShowsOnDVD.com.

The paragraph begins with "Then, a couple of months later..."  And the cover art for DS Bloopers & Treasures is at the bottom of that page.

Midnite, many thanks for sharing this exciting news!

If the Bloopers disc does indeed make the targeted November release date, it will be in time to be a ready candidate for every fan's holidaze dream stocking-stuffer!

Thanks again, G.

It's here! It's here! I ordered it with one day shipping, so, being released 09/26, it should have arrived in my hot little hands on 09/27--but somehow it arrived today instead! So I am curled up in bed, cat in lap, and latte nearby, happily watching Vol 26--and will be doing so late into the night! Oh happy day!  [clap] [clap] [clap]

I wish they had included the music videos, bloopers and the show with the interviews of the cast on Col 26. I had those on tape but somehow they have gotten lost.

i purchased an advance copy of volume #26 at the convention in august. the 25th anniversary segment DOES NOT include the tell tale heart.

So I have a question--I've just finished viewing Vol. 26, episode 1245. Is the narrative at the end by Thayer David part of the original episode, or has it been added in since the original to tie up the story?

thayer david did the original closing narrative. it was not added later. however it was suposed to be frid but i heard he refused to do it.

Thanks for the info! At least an attempt was made to give some resolutions. I've watched several soaps be cancelled that just left the watcher hanging in mid-air forever! [confused_ani]
