Hello, all was at the doc's today and i will be having
hand surgery next month i don't know the date or
time. But will keep everyone posted. It's my right
hand and the problem is clicking on my right ring
finger and small pinky!!

Good Luck Annie,
After the surgury make sure you do all the therapy. My husband had hand surgury about nine years ago. He had an accident. He was very faithful to the excersices given him and everything went very well.

Hi Annie - Best of luck on your surgery. Is it for trigger finger? I have a clicking in my ring finger and that's what the doctor told me it was. I haven't had surgery on it, just use a little finger brace when it bothers me. But I've been wondering if the surgery would help. Keep us posted. Take care.

Ouch, Annie! You'll be in my thoughts, and all will go fine, so don't you worry. I'll be having some back surgery myself, next month, Annie, so you and I can recuperate together. We'll spend the days eating bon-bons, watching DS, and telling each other tales about how much we adore our favorite DS personalities - we both know who they are!

Best wishes to a great recovery! Looks like a few of us are having surgeries next month. I'm having a vitrectomy done on detached retina eye plus more laser. If things don't improve, I'll be wearing glasses like Petofi!

Carol, what is a vitrectomy? It sounds painful.
I'm wishing all of you that are having surgery best of luck. May the vicodine not upset your stomaches and may the husbands be kind to bring you food.
May you have lots of gaming hours on your Playstation 2 and always may DS be nearby.

Carol, what is a vitrectomy? It sounds painful.
It's removal of vitreous fluid that entered my eye when my retina detached. In some cases it gets reabsorbed with time. My second opinion Dr said it could take up to 18 months. I was willing to wait until my vision started to go down hill within the last month. Now I have no choice. The fluid has to be removed so I can see plus my retinal specialist plans to laser back of eye to seal off weak areas. I have an idea how it will be removed but I really don't want to know the specifics--and I'm a nurse!

I'll be in something called "twilight sleep"--will feel, see or hear nothing--but be able to answer questions if he needs to ask them. I had this with my scleral buckle insertion in October and woke up in recovery room. Hubby was an angel during that recovery time because I was a bitch with swollen eye, eye pain and depression. Thanx for your best wishes. I'm sure it will go better than the first surgery since retinal specialist said it won't be as invasive as first.

I'm sure it will go better than the first surgery since retinal specialist said it won't be as invasive as first.
i'm so happy to hear this carol and that you won't have to have anaesthesia. i think that is the worse part of any surgery.

It's on the 14th, Victoria. With so many of us here going under the knife, I think we should look into booking a package deal! They just might throw in a free breakfast, and some discount vouchers for the next one! It works in Vegas.

And same here, Carol! All will go well - don'tchya worry. Enjoy the twilight sleep. I get that when I go to the dentist because I'm a big baby (I'm actually clinically-diagnosed orthophobic). What's nice about it is that you just do fall into a very light sleep, and when they turn the juice off, you wake up feeling rather refreshed - maybe a little groggy, but not washed out.

and i have to be at the hospital at 10:30am
so i'm thinking it should start early.

and the doc removed some tissue from both
fingers. have it all wrapped up and i really
shouldn't be typing on here but wanted to
let everyone know. Have to see the doc in
about 10 to 14 days. Got some medication
as well for the hand. Love Anne

Best of luck on your respective surgeries. I know what a bummer a bad back can be, Gerard. However, I think that all of you guys can still afford to laugh after your surgeries.
When I had the thoroughly "enjoyable" experience of undergoing a gallblader operation, the last thing I wanted to do was laugh after it was all over. So, I have to say in all honesty, that I would have had to have undergone a second surgical procedure to re-attach the stitches after reading Ringo's hilarious top-ten-list on this posting! Ouch, don't make me laugh!
Oh yeah, the doctor asks you if you want your old gallblader, to keep it in a jar as a memento of your surgery. That's kind of like keeping Count Petofi's extremely dish pan hand in a jar (or ornately handcarved box). Yuck!!!

You should check with your doctor first but when I broke a bone in my hand, part of the recuperative treatment was to try to squeeze a small rubber ball a few times per day.
I had GOOD news today as well. Dr said that my retina is staying down and I don't have to see him for 3 weeks. He was very pleased with the result of latest surgery and so am I. My next appointment is April 15th, too.
